My family and I spent two nights at the Mammoth Campground in late August, and it was a highlight of our Yellowstone/Grand Teton vacation. The campground is nestled on a slope, surrounded on all sides by mountains, which makes for breathtaking scenery. Even with dry, grassy fields, the evenings were magical as the setting sun cast shadows from the peaks across the campsite. We were very impressed with the facilities. It's reasonably priced, and the flush toilets and numerous water taps were a welcome convenience. The location is also perfect, being just a short distance from the Mammoth village for supplies and the visitor center. We also stayed at Lewis Lake and Lizard Creek, but my wife agreed that Mammoth was the best of the trip for its combination of views, amenities, and accessibility. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. Five stars

Overall experience was positive but was upset that when my kid got sick the volunteers in the rangers station couldnt tell me where to get services. It was not a 911 emergency so I was out of luck. My kid had a migraine but I wanted to make sure it wasnt something more serious. Finally the volunteers googled (which I couldnt do because NO CELL SERVICE for camper but obviously the volunteers had internet access) where to go and I was told the nearest emergency room was in Lincoln. There should be an Urgent care that is staffed until at least 11Pm. The clinic in Mammoth closed at 5Pm.

I loved the campground!!!!
The area was big (included area to park my van and set up a tent), picnic table, was near the bathroom (very clean), and bear box.
