A beautiful campground slightly removed from the crowds of Yellowstone, but still easy access to the Mammoth Hot Springs visitor area. The camp hosts were welcoming and made sure everyone knew the camp rules when you sign in. The bathrooms were clean and easy to get to, there were an impressive amount of recycling bins, and the stars at night were some of the best Ive seen. The site I got was clearly meant more for a camper, but the ground was level enough for a tent anyway and I didnt have a problem.

The campsite worked well for us. We only wished that they had a dump station at that campground. We had to wait to dump at Madison campground when we were driving out of Yellowstone.

Excellent site in a great campground. It's a spacious site with great views. Very near to the town and right in the park. Nice camp hosts.

Mammoth Campground is my favorite of any place I've camped in the country; it's beautiful, quiet with room between the campsites. People seem to be cancelling if they are unable to use their reservation and that's so helpful

We stayed two nights. One night we had a reservation. Then a week later, after the snow storm had passed we came back. Online it said the campground was full. We drove up and asked in person if they had any cancellations and they did! It was Thursday afternoon. The volunteer Janet Lacey was kind and professional. Their bathrooms are heated and clean. Lots of elk in the campground. Really. Absolutely gorgeous.
