I can't say enough good things about this campground. The wonderful man who checked us in was so sweet and informative. The hosts were friendly and visible checking out the campground every day. Our site was absolutely amazing! Clean and in the best spot! We had elk visiting every morning to graze. The convenience to Mammoth Hot Springs and the Lamar Valley was an added bonus. Best campground we stayed in while in Yellowstone!

Yellowstone in the fall is like nothing else. Where else would you have a bull elk bugling through your camp at 1:30 in the morning?

Beautifully maintained, quiet campground. Perfect place for elk watching in the fall and close to lots of great hikes in the Northern Range.

Very small campground, extremely close to mammoth hot springs. About 15min to exit the park (view the original northern entrance) and enter town where you can pay to shower, get gas and some over priced food. (Subway was our saving grace because they have set prices) the campground attendants where extremely friendly, but it was just not what we expected-compared to the other 2 campgrounds in Yellowstone we stayed in. There is a sort of town center up the road from the campground but everything closed extremely early and it’s inconvenient to have to drive 10min up the road to get anything you may need. There a lot of elk in this area and they bed down in the campground. We were told to leave our campground for nearly 45 min one evening because a male and all his ladies were just hanging out all over our site. Neat to see, but got old pretty quick because they are EVERYWHERE. Maybe it’s personal preference but we did not see the hype of this campground or area of Yellowstone that so many people chalked it up to be.

My daughter and I stayed at Mammoth Campground our first night of our 5 day vacation. Camp hosts were friendly, quiet campground, great location, had elk walking through our campsite - it was a great experience. Will be back next year :) !
