Mammoth CG is our favorite campground in Yellowstone NP. It is quiet and smaller; less busy than the other campgrounds in the Park. Also, the reservation system for Mammoth CG (recreation.gov) is much better than the system used to reserve a spot at the other campgrounds in Yellowstone NP. We really like the ability to reserve an actual site of our choice 6 months ahead, or 2 weeks ahead. Very convenient. The hosts at Mammoth CG were friendly and available if needed. Restrooms were clean and spaced nicely throughout the campground. Beautiful views from many of the sites in the campground.

This spot said you can tent. While you technically can tent, its all gravel. Do not stay on this spot if you planning to use a tent.

The view from the campground is beautiful. Very clean and well-maintained facility. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The only drawback is no dump station at this campground. If you plan, it won't be an issue.

Awesome views. Nice proximity to the historical town (Mammoth) and Gardner (outside the park). Sites were small but easy to navigate. Unfortunately no place to wash dishes or shower. The campground did suggest a place in Gardner though. Not all sites have a gravel leveled area for tents. It was nice being in the park and not having to deal with the gate. Felt overpriced though for the amenities it provided. Especially when compared to other National Park campgrounds I’ve been to.
