We have an 8 person tent and the tent site was too small for it, and also one border of the tent site was crumbling away and in disrepair. We ended up setting up the tent on the roadside so we still had a place to sleep ok. Mosquitos were OUT OF CONTROL-but it’s nature, near a lake, in the summer. We had bug spray and they weren’t too bad after sun went down. The biggest complaint was the *one* pit toilet per loop of campers. I’ve yet to experience a pit toilet in a campground from NPS, especially in one of the most popular parks in the country. When there is a line of five campers it gets stupid busy, in addition they want dish water dumped in the toilet too. I would never camp here again solely on the toilet situation (we have a family of five-let’s be honest my kids were peeing in the woods). The campground is honestly beautiful with good space between camp sites, the drive to old faithful was about 45 min or so. They don’t sell anything here but a bit up the road is a full service site with food/ice/gas/wood.
