Five stars for one specific reason: spots in this campground are un-reservable until 2 weeks before and then opened for reservations. So many people (me!) dont have the ability to plan camping trips six months in advance, but so many campgrounds are reservation-only and they fill up so fast! THANK YOU for giving the rest of us a shot at visiting a national park!!As for the trip, it was great. The campground is a bit crowded in peak summer season but we didnt spend much time in it just dinner, sleep, and breakfast. Easy enough to navigate, even in the dark. Bathroom was as clean as you can expect for a vault toilet and had a trash can, which I appreciated.

All the sites had reserved tags but sat empty while other campers were turned away; I have seen this before. This reservation system DOES NOT WORK! Too many people make reservations & never show up. There should not be mandatory reservations after Labor Day for ANY campground.

Great little campground with sites offering some space and privacy, as opposed to on top of each other.

Beautiful and well kept campground. Walking distance to the lake. No service. Some campsites are very very close to one another - no privacy on campsite #33 C.

Fairly crowded and exposed campsites, but a quiet location

A gret spot, easy access to the lake, clean facilities and really welcoming Rangers. Only place that can be improved is the clarity of description, or the "maximum vehicle length" stated on the reservation website. It could easily be interpreted that that was describing the camper length, rather than the ENTIRE length of the vehicle and trailer combined. The loops are tight, but we were fortunate to have a small camper (19') with no issues. The rangers did warn us, and weren't sure we'd make it, and moved us to another to better accommodate us. The descriptions could use some updating to explain this, as if the camper is too long to get in there, the options for spending the night in the area are few and far between. Some direct warnings about the small drives and tight sports would go a long way. Otherwise, a beautiful lake, and a great spot.
