My wife and I think Blackhawk is the best campground on the Upper Mississippi. Well maintained, friendly staff, beautiful views, Lots of fishing options.

Our site#1 was right by the road people drove their boats to put in. It was very sandy in this area. We could see the barges pass by from our site and a park and sitting areas were just across the road. We shared a driveway with another site so we didn’t have full use of the space for our 5th wheel, truck and motorcycle. The park was very busy every day with boats being put in and taken out of the river. We took our dogs on daily walks but the roads were too soft to ride our bicycles. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The bathhouse is in the other end of the campground.

Nice, quiet COE campground on the Mississippi River. Our site was in the Upper Loop which had more shade than the West Loop. Only electric hook-ups. Visited La Crosse and enjoyed the walk way along the river and the beautiful Friendship Gardens. Plenty of other things to see and do too or just sit, relax and enjoy the river.
