Lovely campgrounds and very well maintained. A bit more crowded than I like, but still pretty quiet this visit.

This is our 5th year coming to waldo! Camp Host Doug has been there all 5 years. He keeps the facilities immaculate! The pristine nature of the lake and the shallow waters near the north campground are perfect for families!

We were unable to go to North Waldo because of the forest fire.

Hello, first, we love Waldo! Shocked to see all the blow down of large pine trees. Cant these be picked up and taken to mills? Hate to see them just cut up for firewood(which will take years) and the wood will rot and draw yellowjackets! We were told also to curtail our generator use. Granted this is a peaceful CG. We use a generator to keep our refrig and fan going. We followed the rules!A fire started to the west. On August 5th we were told by Doug that the forest service was closing the campground. So we left. This was 5 days before we were supposed to leave, only to find out less than a month later, the campground never closed. We were never offered a credit to our Rec.gov account. So needless to say, this trip was less than! Sad!

Great lake and the north side has a protected bay with small islands. Great surrounding hikes with sections of PCT. Campground was clean, large spots. Host was friendly and worked hard to keep restrooms and trash cleaned up multiple times per day.

Very nice campground, well maintained with clean amenities. Minus 1 star for the severe mosquito infestation, but otherwise a great experience.

A memo about spot 41 might be added to warn about the hill, but other then that it's a great place to kayak!

This place is magical and pristine. I hope people continue to treat it with care. The camp host Doug was excellent, by far the best weve met. He kept everything spotless which is not an easy task with pit toilets. He did regular rounds and spoke to campers a bit. The mosquitos were definitely on another level, be prepared with natural effective spray and screened areas.

We paid for the double site with the intent of putting two vehicles in it, but it was too short, and we were only able to fit our trailer and truck side by side. I guess this campground just isn't very trailer friendly. oh well.

We had an outstanding time at North Waldo Lake Campground. The Campground opened on July 1st this year due to snow, our site 21) still had a bit. The parking pad is fairly level, a slight decline toward the road. The site itself is huge, private and beautiful. It is located right beside a trailhead, near a small beach area and a few sites away from the bathrooms. The mosquitos were really bad, so be prepared. Mosquito nets for your head are handy. The camp host, Doug, is awesome! He is so helpful, attentive and keeps everything so neat and clean. His hard work getting the camp ready really showed. Would love to go back, the trails and the lake are spectacular.

I would have given it a 5 star, but it was so smoky and I couldn't use the fire pit, which I understand why. It would have been awsome under better conditions.

such a beautiful forest and well maintained campground. it was a bummer because campers were having campfires when it was prohibited. with signs posted all over the campground and in the national forest in general, it is a shame that the campground host had to babysit full adults.

Upon arriving, we were a little worried since it was quite smokey. But the camp host was very friendly and helpful and told us about the fluctuation in the winds at different times if the day and that it would not be smokey the whole time. He also answered all our questions about navigating around as it was our first time there. The dock to paddle out was right close from the site and we really had a good time kayaking and exploring around the lake some as well as hiking around. The smoke cleared the second day with increased wind which didn’t interfere much with kayaking as we had thought. The bathrooms were very clean and pleasant to use. The composting technology is pretty impressive. The camp site was spacious and beautiful. The lake is breathtakingly gorgeous and so blue… Hope to be back again soon although reading about the declining quality of the water with human use made me wonder if we need to protect it for a few years so that it can recover from all the damage we are doing to it…

Very well run and quiet. Very good lake access for boating or walking along the shore, and close to the small islands.

Our trip to Waldo Lake was so smokey that the campground was nearly empty. It is always a crapshoot and I guess we lost this year. Cold nighttime temperatures and pretty much smoke much of the time. Doug the campground host is a prince of a guy.

My experience at North Waldo Campground was wonderful. the bathrooms were so clean and well-stocked it was very comforting. Everett I'm in the days I was camping that the bathrooms were dirty or out of toilet paper.
Was friendly and helpful.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
