What an amazing Campground and location! Right on the McKenzie River Trail which is intended for Mountain Biking but also accessible to hikers (just be looking out for them and get out of their way!). We reserved a site for Wed/Thur online and moved into a FF site for the remainder of the long Memorial Day Weekend.
The Camp Host/Manager was extremely pleasant and helpful, plenty of wood available, and credit cards are accepted for wood and sites. There is no running water so bring it! Many sites are relatively private, spaced out well so you are not on top of each other.
The Campground boat ramp is a nice place to view the stars at night over Clear Lake. You can rent boats across the way at Clear Lake Resort if you don't have your own.
There are several Waterfalls within hiking distance, approximately 6 miles round trip from the campground to Camden Reservoir and back. And Blue Pool is about a 15 mile hike round trip from the campground as well.
No Cell Service at the campground, but you can drive 5 miles in either direction to get service if needed. Gas/Market is 22 miles from the campground, so be prepared!
Honestly one of the best camping experiences in Oregon based on lake views, hiking, and mountain biking.

This was our 3rd stay at Cold Water Cove. The campground is beautiful and the surrounding area is stunning. The grounds were clean and the vault toilet cleanliness was satisfactory. Unfortunately, we were subjected to barking dog issues. Anytime anyone walked by our neighbor’s campsite the dog would bark and the owner could not control it. This happened as many as 30 times during our stay as their site was directly across from the toilet. The camp host did nothing to address this issue. Prior to the owner leaving Sunday, she did come and apologize to us for the barking which we appreciated, but this will forever leave a negative impression on us regarding Cold Water Campground and car camping.
