This whole section of the park has been outsourced to American Land and Leisure and they have done an abysmal job at everything they were contracted to do.I would never recommend staying here, honestly it was the worst camping experience I've ever had. Could have maybe been nice but there was a huge group across from us blasting music and screaming the entire stay. The site doesn't have a camp host, we were told by the ranger whom we traveled 75 minutes to speak with that we needed to talk to the host at French Pete (40 minutes away ) but that person never showed up or bothered to stop by following the note we left. We ended up leaving early.River access was minimal, none at the campsite we stayed at (11) and there was only 1 water pump for the entire campsite. You really need to plan ahead to know what you want to do if staying at Frissell because the rangers at the nearest station knew nothing about the area. Middle Fork would have been the better resource (2 hours away) but like i mentioned this who section is "maintained" by American Land and Leisure. The employees I spoke with knew nothing about the area and kept passing me off to someone else.

Quiet campground on the upper branch of the South Fork of the McKenzie. No loud or drunken campers. Clean restrooms.Fresh water from a hand pump well. Bear on the road about a mile away.No cell service and none for many miles.

Camped with a few families we knew and a gaggle of children. It was fantastic . We all occupied the loop sites and theropods had such a wonderful time running around. The water is rusty colored but totally drinkable and tastes fine. Quiet (despite all the kids) and nice and shady and spacious. The mosquitos were a a bit vicious so bring your bug spray. But overall fantastic. Will definitely come back.

It was quiet and serene and close enough to the hotsprings. The potable water was questionable and after the first day there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms.

The place is nice, vault toilets but they are nice and clean. Its a quiet place can hear the river at night. No signal whatsoever thou. I liked the place will probably be back. The spaces are separate enough so thats nice. If youre looking for a bigger space like for several families camping together space 4 is great for that.

Our family has camped at Frissell Crossing for over forty years. It is a secluded spot with access to miles of hiking trails. The South Fork McKenzie river flows through the site with several streamside sites. Overall, a great place to enjoy the great outdoors.

Great location as it's far enough out on Highway 19 to be remote, but still easy to get to from many places. the campground is inimate but clean and organized. It is also spaced in a way that gives you plenty of privacy. The creek roaring by helps with ambient noise as well. There are hiking trailheads right from the campground and others that are a shory distance away. Theres plenty to do close by or just dip a pole in the South Fork of the Mackenzie that rolls right through the campground. A great place!

This was such a nice campground and campsite. Very private and quiet. There isn't any cell coverage, which is exactly what we like. There are some really nice hiking trails nearby. I will be coming back to this one.

this is the second time in the past 4 years that we booked a site at Frissell crossing only to be smoked out by wildfires both times we drove part way to site and the smoke was too heavy for us to be able to camp. we called the fire district in Oakridge/ West Fir and they told us it was only going to get worse. we so love that area but not sure we will chance it again in Aug

The camp host was stationed at French Pete campground and hadn't been through Frissle in a day or two. None of the reservation tags had been changed on the post for the camp sites. There was a pile of trash in front of the restrooms because, again, it had been days since anyone was there. When the hosts finally did come through, they were incredibly rude and confrontational with everyone in the campgrounds, including giving me serious attitude while claiming i hadnt paid for my campsite. (It was paid months in advance, they didn't change the reservation tags in any site.) My family has been coming to this campground before I was even born, its always been one of my favorite sites to visit. Now we are looking at new sites not run by the organization that is suppose to take care of this place and its campers.

This quiet campground is the perfect place to be for those who wish to hear nothing but the rushing stream and the wind in the trees. It is a short distance from many trailheads and right across the road from the confluence of Roaring River and South Fork McKenzie. Great spot for fly fishing. Keep in mind the cutthroat trout are all native and must be released. Check those regulations and go have fun.

As I don't want to give this Campround Space a Positive Comment, Because I Don't want to let anyone else have it....Because It was Perfect! I will Share. Total Campground was clean. Our #6 site was the bomb-diggity. Looking over the Creek, total privacy, clean, Large and spread out. Many trails to take. I would recommend this to all! Period!

Beautiful, smaller campground. Peaceful and quiet. Huge sites, most along the river. Clean, fully stocked restrooms. I will probably be back!

Very quiet, lovely sound of the river near by. I am very disappointed that the forest service(?) campgrounds in that area close after Labor Day. Fall is a nice time to camp and i would like to use these camping facilities into Sept and Oct. Is it lack of staff?

I love this campground. Very quiet and secluded, and the spots aren't right on top of each other.

In the past, the Pit Toilets were not cleaned but once a week or less. They are now being cleaned every other day and trash is taken away at the same time. Much nicer experience with clean facilities.
@MaryL7701176 · Camped on Jul 2, 2022 at Campsite #9
Quiet, lovely setting off of the beaten path. The first 5 campsites are spaced out and with access to the creek. We stayed at campsite 3, but note that campsites 1 is worth it. Don’t be fooled based on the map that it is close to the road and therefore disrupted by road sounds. It is not. It has access to the creek and enough trees and vegetation to provide a decent separation. Also that road highway 19 is not heavily used. The camp hosts came once a day to clean bathrooms and brought firewood to sell. Nice people.
The only downside is the water from the water pump was brown, so we did not drink it. Bring your own water.

We love this campsite and have been camping here for several years. The past few years, however, the restrooms have not been well maintained. We arrived on 7-2-21 and the cleaning schedule on the back of the restroom door said it hadn't been cleaned (or restocked) since 6-28-21. It was a holiday weekend and the campground was full - so by Saturday morning the restrooms were out of TP. So just be prepared by bringing your own supplies.

Outhouses had no cleaning or restocking of toilet paper the entire time we were there. It was a busy holiday weekend and the campground was full. Very disappointed the maintenance was not better. According to the cleaning schedule posted, it had been 5 days since the last maintenance in a full campground.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
