The campground itself and amenities are pretty wonderful. There were clean bathrooms nearby and shower facilities. Bring quarters if you'd like to shower. However, if you have a shower bag you can also use that as well if you forgot quarters. We had a water spout nearby to fill our jugs and a water waste hole. This spot was right next to the beach so it was easy to carry our paddleboards out. Beautiful views and Detroit Lake is vast so there was plenty of space for all swimming activities. The spots themselves were on the small side and very close to each other. I would call it cozy at best. This spot is right next to the walking path to the lake, so there was a lot of traffic. Great place for kids as there were many running around on scooters and on the beach. Would come here again with friends if booking multiple sites next to each other. Camp hosts were great at maintaining the grounds and I saw them often. Only con was the obnoxious family next to ours that blasted music on their speakers that could be heard all the way in the lake (we knew because their friends were on a boat and asked them to turn it down). They didn't really listen and played loud music until late in the night. Other than that, my husband and I had a really great time here.

Great place. Campsites well kept and spacious. We were right on the lake so beautiful. Only draw back were that there was no soap in the restrooms near the area were camped. Also there was a coin machine to run the showers so make sure you bring proper change!

Campsite was well maintained. Neighbors were courteous. Being near the trail to the lake was not as much of an issue as I thought it would be. The bathrooms were very clean.

The location overall is very nice. Great beach access to the lake. We were in spot 039, which unfortunately is right next to the trail going down to the lake, so you constantly have people walking right next to your campsite and it feels awkward. The bathrooms were gross. We didn’t even use the showers because they were really gross. The hosts were nice, but the facilities could definitely use some work.

Really nice campground with access to the river. Water was warm enough for comfortable floating/swimming, but very muddy due to heavy use. There are hot showers available, which is unusual for a National Forest, but didn't see any coin changer, so only one of us was able to take advantage of that. Our campsite (39) was nice, but was next to the trail to the river. During the night the neighboring campsite had some kind of motor running all night and kept me awake. Noisy devices like that ought to be included in the list of prohibited noise during quiet hours. Campfire wood was green. I'd like to come back, but my wife doesn't want to because of the muddy waters. There was lots of tiny flying insects attracted to our dinner table, but no mosquitos to speak of.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
