The CG was very quiet while we were there which made it easier to see wildlife out and about. Lovely deer, gorgeous foxes, a bouncy black bear cub (didnt see the mama). We had lots of time for walking, biking, fishing, hiking, and relaxing with a book or puzzle. The Nature Loop shows us different treats at different times of year and is always enjoyable. We didnt get around to getting on the paddle boards but that is another fun activity when were at Chapman. We were treated to watching a fishing session by osprey. A beautiful bald eagle was soaring over the reservoir as we departed.

We camped next to the Flying Pan, which was soothing to the soul and good for sleeping. Nice level spot. This is a quiet campground. Meredith (down the road) has a small convenience store/liquor store with the basics - great for grabbing ice, sodas, small first aid stuff. We didn't access the reservoir, but we want to return with kayaks.The bear box in the site was greatly appreciated, and it was a sizable bear box. We could fit our coolers and other storage containers in it (some bear boxes barely hold a cooler). Table was in excellent shape, and the potable water and dumpster are also appreciated. Kristi and J.D. do an excellent job of keeping the facilities tidy and operational (they are getting a reputation for this)! Very friendly and helpful. Come for the bathrooms, stay for the nature!

The camp hosts at Chapman were the best. J.D., Kristy, Kathy and Meadow came to our rescue more than once. Due to the fires farther west in Colorado, we had to change our campground plans at the last minute. Arriving at Chapman the hosts helped us find suitable sites for our small trailer even though the campground was almost full. Our camp hosts were on the go all day long keeping the grounds clean, helping campers and maintaining the latrines to a high level of cleanliness. My wife and I have been camping in Colorado for more than forty years and the hosts at Chapman rate the highest.

Our camp hosts were easier to get along with this year. It was unfortunate campfires had to be banned due to the fire risk, but it was understandable & a reasonable response to the fires in the area.

Chapman campground is a marvelous place with lots to do - hiking, fishing, swimming. The campground is very well kept and the bathrooms were spotless. Camp hosts, JD and Christy, are super welcoming and helpful!

Very nice campground with clean toilets. Nice space between most campsites so you dont feel crowded. The only downside is that there seem to be few sites that have flat areas for tents, especially if you have larger than a 3-person tent. The friends with RVs and trailers commented that they had to do only minimal leveling.

We really love Chapman campground. It's a quiet, family-friendly place with hikes nearby, a beautiful reservoir and shade. We also had a wonderful experience with the hosts as our pop-up camper was acting up! The host team spent a couple of hours with us helping to fix the problem, which was SO helpful.

Lovely setting. Only complaint is the hand pump for water. I'm not so young that a hand pump is easy to use.

The campground is just as amazing as everyone says - far away from the crowds, beautiful location, and the cleanest toilets I've ever experienced at a campground. We were in G Loop, had shade and a big site - the only downside was that the grill on the fire ring was too tall for grilling steaks over charcoal and we had to improvise. Only explored G loop, most sites were great, though a couple were lacking shade. Not great access for the reservoir, but the river was super close. It's a long way from Denver, but the 4+ hour drive was worth it. Hope to go back next year!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
