Beautiful small campground. The sound of the rushing river was delightful. Hiking, fishing and wildlife watching are the main activities here. Campground host Todd and his sidekick pup Troy were welcoming and helpful. No cell service.

The camp host was excellent, very helpful with every aspect. Felt safe, facility was well maintained, and rules were enforced approximately.

Overall we love this campground. Its quiet. Great fishing. The problem we had this year is it seems the site numbers have changed and dont match the map online. I booked site 7 which shows on the map as being on the outside of the loop in the tree area but when we got there site 7 was actually in the center of the circle with no trees. Very disappointed with that site. The map online needs to be updated to reflect the correct sites numbers and locations.

Camp host was great. Bathrooms were so clean!

This was probably the worst campsite I've ever seen: no shade, no privacy, no room... Nope!

One of my favorites for paddle boarding in am and evening!

Great hosts! Restrooms are kept super clean. No issues at all. We'll be back again.

This is a nice campground. The sites are fairly close to each other, so if you get noisy neighbors, it can be annoying.The facilities are well maintained, and service staff is pleasant and organized. We like the location, as it is close to several great hikes. We did not spend any time on the lake.

I almost don't want to leave a review so people don't know how good it is.

Great spot, small and quiet. Easy access to the reservoir and the cleanest bathroom i have ever seen at a campground.

The campground was small but very nice. It's close to the lake for fishing and boating. The hosts did a great job of keeping the toilets clean but they are vault toilets so when you are down wind, you will smell it. The mosquitos were brutal! Bring lots of bug spray.

Great campground with easy access to the reservoir due to the lake being at 100% this summer. Kayaked and fished right off our campsite (site #1). Some road noise and unleashed dogs were the only negatives.

Great campsite! Super clean facilities, easy paddleboarding access, great camp hosts

The Hosts were great and helpful, but their Management company needs to learn to do better business. The bathroom needed to be pumped, one of the stalls was so full it had to be closed. And the trash dumpsters were all full, with a locked closed trash can empty! We had to give the Host our trash ( which they gracefully took). Not a very good company if they are trying to cut costs by waiting to the last minute to provide required amenities.

We LOVE Dearhammer campground. Been coming here for 50 years. The new management running the campground is horrible. It’s all about the money and as a camper you can feel it. There isn’t hospitality and friendliness anymore. Just money.
It is really really sad. We were told this company is bidding for the next contract for 10. I pray they don’t get it. It will be sad to find a new place to camp.

The location of the campground was nice. Although the ONE outhouse was often out of toilet paper and the second outhouse was out of order, creating a line and an uncomfortable experience.

The campground hosts were excellent. The bathrooms were very clean. The campground seems to be well managed. We stayed in site 11 which was pretty nice. There are a few amazing sites on the water side but are impossible to ever get as always booked up.

campground was well-kept, peaceful calm the lake was full so camping was even better. I will definitely be back next summer.

5 stars to the camp hosts. They keep the facility sparkling clean. 4WD trails in the surrounding area access some of the most amazing views in all of Colorado. Highly recommend FS400 and Burnt Mountain Road. Be sure to drive slow along the Frying Pan River.

Hands down the best campground! Love that we can be near a river and the lake. Love the near by hiking. Drives to see more beautiful things… the staff are awesome! Especially love Jean!

Absolutely stunning. Tucked away but close enough to Basalt that if you need something it’s available. Clean camp grounds and lots of fish when we went in late September.

Beautiful and amazing, exceeded expectations!

The campground itself was ok. There look to be a few sites better than others but some are very exposed to both the sun and other campers.
@KathrynF278383 · Camped on Aug 22, 2022 at Campsite #1
Sites are really close together- no privacy at all
would not stay here again
Camp host not available and had off duty sign up entire time we were there.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
