This place is a gem. So cool having it so close to Vail, but at the end of a dead end road. Hiking and biking, great scenery and a water feature-the lovely Gore Creek.

One of the best campgrounds I've ever been to. Already booked another site!

Nice and quiet. Very isolated. Had a nice spot with the creek running behind us. Had excellent cell service with T Mobile.

Quite cool and dark in late September, but nice big sites and amazingly close to Vail. Some road noise from I70 but not annoying. Would visit again.

This was a very nice campground and we really enjoyed our stay.

Campsite was easily long enough for our 27' motor home but it was at a very severe angle. It did not feel safe for our rig and was not good for our propane cooled fridge.
Otherwise, the setting was very nice and private.

Big private sites and beautiful trails. Great place to escape the heat in summer.

Gore Creek campgrounds are close to Vail, easily accessible from I-70, yet provide a tranquil and expansive setting for your next camping adventure. Dry dock sites are large - several directly adjacent to Gore Creek. Hiking trails nearby are amazing. Amenities at the sites are great as well with toilets, trash cans, and fire pits/bear lockers/picnic tables at each site.

Absolutely beautiful, no highway noise. we also were checked in by a human. Biking and hiking right from the campground. Real gem. Only negative thing was no dump available. It was one of the nicest campground that we stayed in while touring Colorado.

Gore Creek Campground is a true gem of the National Forest Service. If you are looking for a great boondocking location that is close to great trails and breathtaking views, this just might be the place for you. The entrance to the campground is ~2 miles off of I-70 Exit 180 on Bighorn Road. Only 10 minutes from Vail Village and 25 minutes from Frisco.

We stayed in Site #8, which provided plenty of room for our 22’ travel trailer and pickup. The sites each have a large picnic table and fire ring.

Pit toilets are spread through the campground and were very clean and well maintained. The campground hosts do a great job of keeping everything tidy and looking great. They also have bundles of firewood for sale for $7 at their site just inside the entrance to the campground.

I can’t say enough about this place. It’s probably my favorite spot to camp in Colorado. I almost didn’t post this review for fear of the secret getting out.
