Came out to see a concert at the Dillingham for theater. Stayed in campsite 50 and couldnt say enough good things about it.I didnt realize that it was a double sight so I did have two bare boxes and two camp pads. Since I was, my Wi-Fi appreciated the extra privacy. Water is a bit easier to access from campsite 51 but that is really splitting hair. Would absolutely come back to this campground.

Spent 1 night in site D51 and it was great! It was a double site so it was pretty big. We were able to put 3 tents total with a good space from each other. There were 2 picnic tables and a fire ring/pit. And the parking spots were just literally in the site as well and so we can see our car from our tent. There were 2 bathrooms like ~300 ft from our site as well. Overall it was a great camping experience at heaton bay.

Beautiful location! Water levels in Dillon Reservoir were very low, but it allowed us to explore all the small islands that would’ve been inaccessible by foot otherwise. We have seen few interesting birds (sandpipers, phalaropes, ospreys, herons, eagles etc.). We didn’t fish, but we could see a bunch of them swimming in the water.
