The proximity of the campground to the Flat Tops Wilderness and surrounding view, Trapper's Lake, and the chance to have a wonderful meal at the Lodge was spectacular. Tim was the most kind and helpful campsite manager that added to a wonderful experience for our family.

Very friendly & helpful camp host! Tim gave us great fishing tips. The campsite itself is quiet, with multiple water sources and very clean toilets. Definitely bring mosquito repellent, but we didn't find the mosquitoes to be oppressive as long as we kept up with the bug spray. Can't wait to come back!

What a special place. Our campsite (#015) was great - lots of space for us to set up 2 tents and our screen tent. Great Mountain Views from the site as well. Only downside is that it's right next to the bathrooms and depending on the wind, we often got some strong smells wafting our way. We checked out Trappers Lodge which has a great happy hour and for Labor Day they had live music set up. A lot of fun.

Amazing stay! Had some deer and elk traffic right through camp. Great access to trails. Definitely recommend for hiking, fishing, and being completely off cell service.

Amazing. Campsite; We tent camped. The toilets were clean. The campsite was maintained: trees trimmed and an area aas cleared for a tent. Campers were welcoming and quiet thru the night. Campsite hosts introduced themselves, offered info on parking additional vehicles and were great neighbors. Location; Trappers lake was better than expected. Views extraordinary. Fish plentiful. Beaver activity beyond anything we read about or had seen. Post forest fire (2002) hiking views are unique, they provide great visibility of the surrounding flattops. Deer walking through camp was unexpected but welcome. This alpine lake was and is still deserving of wilderness designation. Note: No bear boxes were available at the campsites, hopefully this was due to our visit being the first week of the season and they will soon be available for use.

The place is gorgeous! The campground hosts--first year--were wonderful and really joyful people. I was in #15, a little too close to the privy due to the inevitable oder. However, the outhouse was very tidy tidy at all times. Well worth the 50 miles of dirt road to get there!
