Stove keeps you warm enough, no cooking or heating water on top though

Excellent stay at the cabin. The wood stove worked well and kept the whole place comfortable on a cold night. The front door was a bit hard to close and lock from the inside but we managed.

We have been going to Radeke for several years now. It has been a yearly tradition for over 20 years. I wanted all the fellow travelers to know that you can no longer cook on the top of the stove. It has been moved to inside the hearth. It was a great shock to us and our dinner plans. Bring your stove. It is still a great place but not as warm as we have had it in the past. Bring your woolys. Have fun.

The cabin is nice with a recessed wood burning stove in the chimney. We needed to bring all our supplies with us...Mt Hedgehog and Potash are close to summit and plenty of trails around. If you want another destination there is Arethusa Falls and Frankenstein Cliff Loop which is about 30 minute drive away in Crawford state park. The falls is the highest at 140 feet in New Hampshire. We were there in the winter and there is no way for us to hike the loop due to the ice even though we had crampons and micro spikes. The hike up into see the waterfall fall was a good hike for us and we watched people ice climbing the falls.

The new stove is set in the fireplace! No cooking on the top,or even a kettle. Doesn't heat up the place like before!

Cabin was very clean and woodstove worked very well. This is an ideal place to lay your hat after a day of hiking.

The Radeke cabin is a great place to visit. The old rustic no frills cabin is a very relaxed place to hang out for a few days. There are good hiking trails right here. Also, if you want a tourist attraction experience then the town of North Conway is a 20 minute drive.

Grand kids and adults all had a blast! Fire master managed to keep cabin heated between 68 and 72 for 40 hours!

Been coming here for years, love this place but the stove needs replacement. The innards are inop, vents do not put out the heat this cabin needs especially during sub zero nights. It is old and tired, in a short time the wood doesn't fit into the fire box due to it filling up. A simple steel stove that throws tons of radiant heat is overdue.

It took some time for the cabin to warm up with the wood stove. This cabin is a good place to start when doing winter hiking.

This cabin is so excellent! Seems to have been insulated since my last visit and new wall boards. I had 2 6-yr-old boys with me and the temp never went below 60 degrees. The wood supply was the best. This place is remote enough to feel the wilderness but close enough to civilization to feel safe. The cleanliness was a pleasant surprise and we were proud to leave it better than we found it.

Radeke cabin is a very special place! Thank you NFS for preserving this gem! The cabin is cozy even with the limited amount of amenities hence the reason why it is booked throughout the year!Please enjoy as much as I did!

Location, location, location! Basic facility with a very decent outhouse. Wide front porch useful for cooking. The whole cabin will require renovations soon.

Always a good time at the cabin. We had a couple first timers and they loved it. Had the entire Kanc to ourselves because it washed out and they closed it down. So quiet!!!
