We've camped at Russell Pond CG for at least 30 years. Sadly, the campground is showing its age. It needs some updates/repairs. Many of the bath houses are either fully or partially out of service. The nice amphitheater no longer has a canopy, and doesn't appear to offer the programs like it has in the past. The wood on many of the picnic tables shows signs of heavy decay. This past season there was only 1 host on site, meaning when they were unavailable, for either firewood or assistance, no one was on site. It's still a nice campground, but have certainly seen a decline in infrastructure over the years. Not sure if this falls to the USFS, or the concessionaires.

The campground is going downhill! Only one shower works out of four! Toilets and faucets don't work, spigots don't work, and there's an extreme lack of toilet paper!

Very quant and lovely park. It would be nice if the broken handicap sink in the men's room was repaired as well as the second sink in the ladies room.

We were up there several times this year. The bathrooms have not been fixed the entire summer. They are not enforcing the rules. They are not picking up trash that people leave around the pond. There was a tree that fell blocking half the road which was not taken care of for a week, I have been going up there for 50+ years and I feel this was the worst year of all of them

This small camping site is spread out and well shaded. Most sites do not have direct access to the pond but there is a launch and a nice beach. Russell pond has the clearest water I have seen. The camp hosts are friendly and helpful. Russell pond is closed to many of the attractions around Fraconia notch. We love it.

Third year of going to Russel Pond. This time was the first with a Saturday in the stay. The tranquility of the campground and surrounding area was greatly disturbed by the very loud sounds of a racetrack located in Woodstock. Apparently every Saturday there is races and it sounds like you are right there. Love the area and the trout fishing at the pond. Will never book a Saturday again but will still plan for weekday stay as that is the quietest and less busy time. The other one item that is very run down and dangerous is the boat launch. The cement is deteriorated and rebar is exposed. Watch how you step when launching and retrieving your boat, canoes and kayaks as you could easily break a leg. This should really be addressed as it is a safety hazard.

Russell Pond is a great campground with pleasant hosts. It's away from all the noise yet close enough to be able to run to town for anything you may need. Just a short drive to Lincoln, NH, Loon Mt. and Clark's Trained Bears.
