Campground was very clean and grass was mowed. We did have a bad storm with electric going out for almost 24 hours but hey, we are camping

The campsite was clean and freshly mowed. The evening male attendant at the check in booth was one of the most courteous people I have ever encountered!! I hope this will be acknowledged to him!! I do not recall his name, but I spoke with him over the phone as well as in person!

Good family campground. Clean and grass was mowed. Nice place to walk our dogs. Love to kayak the river. Nice people. Only problem is no internet or cell phone service.

The road to the campground is steep and twisting but it is worth it. The campground is nice with many sites along the creek and access to the lake. We enjoyed our short stay and will return.

I love the camp ground facilities and workers at the guard house. For years prior,, the entire camp ground would be open and all site available early and latter during off season Memorial Day - Labor Day. Know only a selected number are open and there’s no more 1st come sites available this new year. I’m an outdoorsman that loves camping spring and fall during the hunting seasons of Turkey and Deer in the lower sections where the public hunting is easier access from the water. Even during this COVID19 season, wouldn’t it be safer to spread out rather then putting all campers in one area only opened during off season?
I’ve regretfully had to go to other camping areas and vacation spots because I couldn’t utilize my 2 weeks vacation (1 spring and 1 fall) at the Gerald Freeman facilities. Vacation, finances, and memories created at other locations rather then the place I’ve enjoyed over the past several decades that we so much loved. My family and I are also reconsidering moving are camping vacation areas away to one more flexible and concerning to their customers and patrons. Why break something that was already working for so many years???

The campground sites are large. We stayed in site 42 which was full hook ups. We loved the river and brought kayaks to use. We took walks and rode bikes. We visited the snack shack for ice cream a couple times. The local Walmart was only 20 minutes away to stock up on forgotten items. I enjoyed the Campground host as she was from Texas. We drove one day over to Holly River state park for a hike. The campground is well maintained and quiet especially at night. The local police make frequent rounds. There are playgrounds for the kids and my grand draughters enjoyed volleyball.
