This is a hidden gem of a camping park. The camping area is well kept, with private spaces and lots of room. I loved the picnic table and easy access. I arrived at night and had no problem finding my spot. The bathrooms were a close walk--clean and with showers well lit. The best part of this campground is the night sky--just gorgeous. I also took a hike to the lake in the morning on a well marked trail and it was beautiful with changing leaves. The staff at this park were super helpful and friendly, too. I really appreciated them and this lovely respite on my drive cross country.

The camping was great! Not a fan of the loud Halloween decorations the site host had up that were going off every 30 seconds from 4-10. Really made the night un-enjoyable. Morning was great, though and the site itself was nice.

Unfortunately they were doing brushwork on the OHV trails we were using for mountain bicycling and lots of thorny branches on the trails, not good for our tires. And the lake was drained due to broken dam so the lakeview trail was not as scenic. On the upside, campground and bathrooms were clean, showers hot, paved campground site was level, easy backin, quiet and relaxing. Lower bathroom had a sink, but no soap or hand sanitizer. Lower mens shower head sprayed across the room and could not be adjusted manually, needs a tool adjustment. Upper bathrooms good.

Some of the cleanest bathrooms I've ever experienced, and I've camped at quite a few locations across the country. Great hosts, super friendly and helpful. Loved the site and the proximity to the trails. This is my second visit to Iron Ridge and I plan to go back many times in the future

This campground is small, but the spots are well arranged so they each feel secluded. There are flush toilets and hot showers. The camp hosts are fantastic.

Great place to camp!

Sites are too small and close together, it would be better if they were spaced out like Army Camp. It did not matter so much because I was the only one there midweek late September. Nice quiet. It would be great if there was a trail nearby.

As always, Lake Vesuvius, Iron Ridge was a great week away and very relaxing. The facilities were excellent and well maintained.

Was my first time visiting this park and I was in site 31. Site was small and most of it is on a hill but it was pretty secluded so that was nice. Bathroom was very clean and hiking trails were great.

Great Campsites!Lots of trees, good privacy and clean restrooms. Only improvements I would like to see are more showers.

Nice quiet campground, sites not stacked on top of each other. Enjoyed kayaking around the lake. Will return.

Spent 1 night it was very peaceful. Hearing coyotes in the middle of the night.

Site was beautiful and had plenty of space considering we had a group of 5. The area surrounding was just as nice and there were plenty of things to do in the surrounding areas. Both the campsite and bathrooms were well maintained, as well as surrounding neighbors were alll quiet and respectful. Overall we will be back and had a great experience.

Campsite wasnt busy in early June. We were the only ones at the upper sites so we basically had private bathrooms. The downside was the amount of spiders in said bathrooms. Loved the trail that basically went right behind our campsite.

As always, Iron Ridge is a peaceful and usually quiet place to experience nature at its best! Sites are spread out. There are plenty of hiking trails. The lake is down the road for water activities, Even though it was closed to swimming related to e-coli levels, we still managed to kayak a couple of times. The bathrooms were clean and neat, except for the weekend when there were a few rowdy people at the top of the ridge. Still my favorite 'glamping' spot! ALL the camp hosts are amazing!

We loved camp site 20! It is larger than the two sites it's near and it's the most tucked away from the road. Overall, Iron-Ridge is a very peaceful wooded campground and I would definitely like to return when the lake is a little warmer for swimming. Ticks are bad this year everywhere, so make sure you bring bug spray and tweezers. There was also a lot of poison ivy in and around our campsite, but was avoidable enough if you know how to ID it! Bathrooms were good, but it's just a single stall.

The campground was very well maintained and the site was clean and enjoyable. A great jem in Lawrence county

Our site was very nice and private. We arrived a day earlier than expected which could be why the site wasn't cleaned up. Nice hiking locally. Only negative was the traffic which I think was coming and going from the camp hosts at the top of the hill was frequent loud and fast. Very curvy road I didn't feel real safe walking our dog. Big plus was water on site! Dump station was closed so we had to go to the oak campground's.

The park was nice with some spacious sites. The bathhouses were clean. The hot water in the mens showers was not working or set to tepid. Neither was warm enough for my husband to shower in. Both womens showers were fine. There are plenty of waterfalls and hiking and biking trails nearby. Lovely area to visit.

Had a great time with friends. Campground is well-kept and the bath house was also very clean. We ended our trip early due to a power outage and some bad weather, but would definitely recommend.

The sites at the top loop of the iron ridge grounds are really not accurately represented on the .gov site. Most are pull-offs with steep grades, multiple in some cases, to get from parking/firepit down to picnic table and then down further to a tent pad. It looks like a couple of sites actually have stairs due to the grades. The weather has been drought-level around here, and the sites are hard, dry, dusty, rocky, and worn. The camp host at the end loop had dogs that were left to bark inside the camper but still clearly audible throughout the loop. The bathrooms at the loop were on the better side of average. There is no firewood here. Other sites between the entrance and the loop appeared better situated. They are still on a pay envelope system for FF campers; No QR codes or website/app options for this. I drove three hours to get to this campground and found the sites and situation so unpleasant I left after two hours and went home.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
