This campsite offers a serene camping experience, ideal for small groups. Each site can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people, with space for 2-3 small tents and 2 cars. During our visit at the end of May, the weather was cold and rainy, enhancing the site's peaceful ambiance with the gentle noise from the nearby rivera lovely walking destination. Each campsite is equipped with separate food storage boxes to prevent bear encounters, ensuring safety and peace of mind. The restrooms are clean and located just a 2-3 minute walk from the campsites; however, there are no shower facilities, and the water was extremely cold. We encountered many mosquitoes, which are common in the area. The mobile phone network coverage (US Mobile) was good. Despite some minor inconveniences, the overall experience was pleasant.

Great campground that’s well maintained and easy access to trails and more. Impressed with nicely paved roads and campsites throughout the park.

Love this campground!! It’s so well cared for throughout, and it was nice and quiet for enjoying the sounds of the river and woods. Rangers came by to give us a bear talk each day—we learned it’s super important to put all food, toiletries, and other scented items away when not immediately using. Apparently black bears live nearby and pass through the camp regularly. So far they ignore humans—like we’re big squirrels one ranger said—but a bear at nearby Colonial Creek had recently gotten a cooler full of raw meat that a family had left sitting out unattended at their campsite. That bear is at risk for being killed now, unless they can convince it through all of the non-lethal measures that human stuff just isn’t worth it. So please take the rangers seriously and be prepared to follow these rules scrupulously in order to protect the wildlife indigenous to the Park and surrounding areas. And enjoy this beautiful area!
