New halem Creek campground was well maintained and most of the campsites were situated a reasonable distance away from each other, which is a rare find in more popular campgrounds such as this. The facilities were clean and it was a great staging point for hiking day hikes in the North Cascades National Park without having to drive 3 hours from Seattle.

Beautiful launching point for the North Cascades National Park. Quiet campground with adventure trails. I am so glad we found our way here.

This is a very well kept campground with the National Park Visitors Center a short walk or drive from camp. It serves as a good starting point for day trips farther into the park and around all three of the dams/lakes.

No check in required. Just a first come first serve, online reservation base. Pull up to your chosen site and you're done. The amenities and the visitor center here are some of the best I've come across. Very clean and the visitor center is informative, staffed by some of the most helpful rangers I've interacted with. I do think that having a bulletin board with the reserved names would be helpful as this is usually the system at most other campgrounds. In the event that you forgot which campsite you booked but know that you're at this one, this would make it really easy to figure out.

Great campground, with NP visitor center right on site. The best is the river trail which can be accessed from the campground. The restroom is very clean and big. The camp site is large and private. We had a great camping experience there. The river loop trail is a must see, incredibly beautiful with rainforest setting by the green color river.

Nice campground totally ruined by people not following the rules and nobody that cared enough to enforce the rules. We had a large group that came in after we set up. They had 2 camp sites, 8-10 cars total and who knows how many people. Their idea of a visit to a national park was to party and make all kinds of noise until around 2;30 am, totally ruining the experience for people that came to experience nature. Nobody from the park service even bothered to drive through the campground, we reported the issue the next morning at the visitor center..nobody cared there either. This is the worst experience we have had at a national park.We love the national parks but the park service is allowing this valuable resource to be abused.
