We spent 2 nights at Newhalem Campground in North Cascades National Park. The Newhalem campground was beautiful and green, with massive trees. Sites felt private and quiet because of the trees. There was room for the car, our 13 ft camper, and a tent. There are flushing toilets, potable water faucet near the restrooms, table, bear box, and fire area, but no showers and no dishwashing sink. Non-electric. The visitors center is close by. You can walk from your campsite to a 1.8-mile loop trail called River Loop. It offers a peaceful walk along the Skagit River through old-growth forest, and it is dog friendly! We drove to the Diablo Lake trail, which is beautiful, more challenging, and leads to a bridge overlooking the dam. Saw deer on the trail. Diablo Lake trail was also dog friendly.

Loved the campground, but the space was too small for 2 tents. We fit one 4 person tent perfectly, but for 2nd tent we had to make space by moving out table to the parking lot. Since this is 8 people site I would think that there would be enough space for 2 4 person tents.

Nice spot! Perfect driveway to back into with a picnic table at the end of it. Would recommend!

Nice campgrounds, everything very clean, I just wish Reserved Sites had so one in them.

Bathrooms always clean and stocked, no showers which is a real bummer. Camp host and rangers are great.. sadly it rained the whole time we were there so we did day trips to Methow.

We really enjoyed the privacy and beauty of this wooded Campground, plus it's convenient location right off the highway and near the small town of Newhalem. Because of the burn ban, we couldn't use the fire pit/grill at the campsite, but it's good to know there is one for when we come again. The restrooms were cleaned daily and the Campground seemed well-maintained overall. The only thing I would suggest is more spigots to get water. Next to the restrooms was the only place to fill up containers for water to use in cooking, drinking, etc.

Campfires were banned due to fire danger and we loved the clean air! Please make this ban permanent in summer months so that we can protect our health and slow global warming.

Good campground. A little confusion when we arrived because the entry gate was unmanned as the CG was full. We were not sure of the protocol because we don't use NP campgrounds that often. We went to our site as per our reservation and found that it was properly documented for us (system worked). Site was a little tight for our 40ft rig but we did fit. Most sites were heavily wooded which was nice. Our picnic table and fire pit for our particular site was at the left rear of our MH (site was a back in) which was ok for us but may not work for a larger family. Dump station on the way out was also tight for a big rig with a tow vehicle so dump before you hook up. We enjoyed our stay.
