We stayed at one of the walk in sites close to the Skagit. The campground was very well maintained and the bear bins at every site was a nice surprise! Would highly recommend.

Our campsite was conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the parking spot. However, if you have multiple water tanks or anything weighing more than 25lbs, I would recommend bringing a hand truck to make the transportation easier.

The location itself was peaceful and private, providing a great atmosphere for camping. However, a group of teens showed up at night, which disrupted the tranquility of the area. It's something to be mindful of if you're looking for a quieter experience.

One of the highlights of the campsite was its proximity to the river. You could hear the soothing sound of the river flowing at night, adding a beautiful natural ambiance to the surroundings. Note that the water in the river is deep and rapid, making it unsafe for swimming. So, if you were hoping for a swim, you might need to reconsider.

On the plus side, the campsite had a bear box available for storing food and personal belongings.

Overall, our campsite offered convenience, tranquility (excluding the occasional disturbance from the teens), and proximity to the river. While swimming wasn't an option, the natural ambiance and the provided bear box added value to the camping experience.

We had one of the walk-in sites, and it was great. My only regret was not booking it earlier so we could have had two nights instead of one. Very peaceful and beautiful amongst the ferns and huge cedars. While we were there we drove up to Ladder Falls and also walked in the cedars in the little town of Newhalem. There were a few mosquitos, but no worse than one would expect in a cool and shady forest.Peaceful and relaxing!
