Beautiful and clean camp ground and sites. Best sites for tent campers are on D loop.

I really like Newhalem campground- people are respectful and normally it is very peaceful. But the evening of my stay there were deafening alarm blasts from the Gorge dam followed by 90 minutes of very loud low-flying helicopters circling directly above cute campground.

This campground was great! Bathrooms were clean. We had decent site privacy at site 108 in loop C.

Had site C108. Nice wide, paved site easy to back into. As will be noted in the reservation, there is a lot of "debris" lying around from fire clean-up. It rained most of the time we were there, so did not take full advantage of the park's offerings. We were able to explore the well done visitor center and hike the campfire trail. Went over to the Newhalem power plant and walked those trails. The park could use more signage at intersections. Sometimes you had to guess which way to turn. Great dump station. The Diablo Lake overlook is not to be missed.

Newhalem Campground was overall really great. The campground provides access to a number of good length, easy trails directly from the site which were perfect for us. The sites were less private than I would have preferred, but better than some campgrounds. The restrooms were also pretty clean. Site 108 pictures are definitely of a time in the past - not representative of current state. There was a good amount of flooding in the driveway where we parked our trailer, but maybe that will get better with the repaving project. There is also a downed tree in the area of the table and fire pit, which made the area smaller and pushed the table onto a slopped hill. The site would still be worth booking though if you are looking for an extra wide driveway.
