Great camp spot. Nice trail system at the campground; well maintained with clean restrooms, camp kitchen clean up area and running water which is always much appreciated!

Campsites were among trees and adequately spaced. Bathrooms were clean. Walking trails nearby. Covered picnic tables near the site were great after a rainy night

Wonderful campground. Nice walk through the woods to Visitor Center. Make sure to take the boardwalk trail-Sterling Munro Viewpoint, behind the visitor center! The view is spectacular! One of the rangers should be directing folks to this short walk as it is breathtaking. We hiked to town and saw the dam and waterfalls. Also biked around the area. Would definitely return to this clean, well maintained campground.

Highly recommend this campground! Very calm, quiet national park, but one of the most beautiful parks Ive ever been to. This campground is at the visitors center which is very helpful. Pick up your firewood from locals (signs on the road) or the local general store in Newhalem (very limited hours). Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Park rangers were very helpful and informative. I recommend a rafting trip with Triad in the summers along the Skagit for beginners or renting some paddle boards for Lake Diablo by the dam. This is truly my favorite camping spot. Also, had stable internet and cell service (Verizon) at the campground.

Quiet and clean campground. Level campsite driveway. First night at site 14 and later at site 13 for another 2 days. Close to bathroom and Name a tree trailhead. Walking distance to Visitor Center. Prefer this over colonial creek south campground for above reasons.

We come here for our annual camping trip and usually stay in Loop A. The grounds are well maintained and its nice to have toilets and running water available just a short walk from the site. The space between sites is perfect too.

Newhalem was a great first-time campground for us, and our first time visiting North Cascades NP complex! Clean facilities and the other guests were respectful of the quiet hours.

The campground is fantastic. We stayed in Loop A site 014 and next year we plan to book 014 and 016 (016 for my Dad and Mom with an RV). The sites are well maintained, spacious and you're far enough away from your neighbors which is a big thing for me. The other nice thing is the FLUSHING TOILETS!! It never used to matter much to me if a campground had honey buckets or real toilets but now, I'll definitely opt for that little luxury when I can. That being said, the bathrooms were very clean during our entire stay. The sites are supplied with a fire pit, picnic table and a food locker to keep bears and other critters out. During our stay we didn't come across any bears (thankfully) and the campground does a great job making sure signs are posted warning about leaving food out / garbage around your site. There is a short river loop trail you can walk to view the Skagit River which was nice and the trail itself if well maintained. Just a short drive up the road will lead you to the Diablo Lake Overlook which I can't recommend enough; it's absolutely breathtaking. Overall, I would highly recommend this campground if you're in the area.
