Campground was nice, clean and easily drive-able. Easy access to the North Cascades and the views within it. A nice loop walk around the Skagit River and a creek nearby as well as Ladder Falls.

My friends and I camped here in early July, and I would rate this site a solid 3.5 - 4.0Positives: -- This site is probably one of the best in loop C if you're tent camping. We loved that it was on the edge of the woods (within hearing distance of Newhalem Creek) and not crowded in by the other sites. -- The tent squares are pretty level and were big enough for our 4-6 person tents. -- There are quite a few trees which were perfect for hanging our hammock and a clothesline. -- The bathrooms are just out of sight but an easy walk if you have to go alone or at night. -- It's not shown in the photos listed here but there is a bearbox provided for storing food and scented items, which we were able to fit two large coolers into. -- There were tons of huckleberry bushes in this area so, free snacks.Negatives:-- There are some mosquitos. I was able to fend most of them off, but bring bug spray or a screen tent to cover your picnic table.-- It's probably a seasonal issue, but there were lots of little nats flying around in the bathrooms. In the morning lots of dead ones would be on the sinks and toilets but the camp staff must clean/mop daily because they were usually all gone by 10:00am. Otherwise, the bathrooms were fairly clean.Other:-- We were pleasantly surprised to have strong cell reception in this area (I have Verizon).-- The Skagit General Store is only a 5 minute drive from the campsite and has ice, sunscreen, condiments, and other helpful items for campers (like ice cream).

Great campsite next to visitor center and trails. Mosquitoes (evening) and spiders everywhere when we went in June. Bring mosquito repellent! Dead trees (big and small) were falling every now and then. Thankfully, it didn’t land in our campsite. I hope the camp host is monitoring the falling trees and ensuring the safety of campers.
