Nicely wooded spots, bathrooms in good condition. Nice trail that leads from CG to Visitor center. Very helpful and friendly Lady Ranger in CG.

This campground is beautiful and wooded. Walking distance from the Skagit river and the town of Newhalem. We stayed in site B49 which was a really easy pull through. We have a 30 foot trailer with a 20 foot tow vehicle and had no trouble at all getting into our site even though there are trees everywhere. This site is within walking distance of some great easy hikes, such as the river loop, and the trail of the cedars. We had to drive to other places such as Diablo lake and Ross lake but that was expected. The first day was a bit hot and there were a lot of mosquitos. The next few days were much cooler and there were much less mosquitos! We were quite happy to find out that the dump station here was actually open! Highly recommend this campground.

Great location. Pull through site a little tight but was fine. Would camp here again.

The quiet of the forest and massive trees made our time at Newhalem restorative. There were many hiking choices to match the difficulty level and length we wanted.

Very clean, nice bathrooms, lots of space. Take the river loop hike before you turn in for the night

On 6/1/2021, about midnight, while sound asleep in the beautiful, dark, forested, quiet Newhalem Campground, we were awakened by the sound of a hovering helicopter and observes a searchlight moving through the trees. Suddenly, an extremely alarming, loud air raid type siren enveloped the forest, echoing off the surrounding mountains! This lasted a long enough time to awaken other campers and frighten some who expressed the fear that the dam might be failing, and we were being warned of this or another unknown hazard! In the am, we were still anxious and unnerved and left as soon as we could, still unaware of the source of this scary disturbance in the middle of the night!

Nice park, a little tight in some spots and some of the pull throughs are on the wrong side of the road. Lots of trees, scenic area and lots of things to do in the area.
