My family enjoyed our stay at Charbonneau Park. Camp hosts are friendly.
This campground is a gem, with a few caveats. The lake is pleasant, and there are a few access paths where you can reach the water without trekking to the marina or day-use area. The sites are large and mostly level, with plenty of space between neighbors. If you need to fill your tank with fresh water, the dump station at the park entrance (NOT the campground entrance) is the best place. It's not well signed, so watch for it after you cross the railroad tracks. If we lived closer, we'd definitely return for another stay.

Over all the park was nicely kept. beautiful views of the river and bay. The host was nice. The reason for only two stars was there was no water in the park at all. This means porta potties only, no showers, and no dump station. You would think this would at least get you a discount, but you would be wrong. What was amazing was there was no time frame to fixing the pump because no parts were available! Good thing we live in America.

Our annual family reunion at Chardonneau Park, wasn't as good as it has been in the past. The facilities were dirty, TP was consistently out and the grounds where dry. And the host where rude. When speaking with the about our family reunion, the host interrupted and said "you mean family rebellion", not sure if that was meant as a joke or not. But through our stay the host attitude was not welcoming.
