Great site, water on three sides. My daughter caught a nice bass, which made the trip for her!

It was our 1st time & it was wonderful. We're already excited to get back. Mr.& Mrs. Pennick and all the lovely folks (Bob too!) at the entrance shack were super friendly & very helpful. If you like nature, swimming, fishing, kayaking, & super quiet nights by a fire..Longwood is the place. We saw great grey herons, otters, osprey, & even a bald eagle. 55k acres of WLM areas & 800 miles of shoreline...yeh, come see it.

We have stayed at Longwood a few times in the last three years, including over one-week stays. The campground is off of a busy highway and busy early in the morning. The Southern sites suffer the most noise pollution, although they have great sites on the lake there. The sites on the North side and West side are the quietest and have great views of the lake. The hosts have been accommodating when we had to move camp because of obnoxious, drunk, neighbors. About that: You would think the Rangers would enforce the drinking regulations (no alcohol) when a neighbor complains. This last trip of 8 days we moved because site 66 (we tent camp) was just too loud for us. When neighbors again were loud and up until 4:00 AM, I woke up, left my tent and family and tried to get the hosts attention, knocking on their doors. No answer. I was later informed by hosts to call 911 to report rowdy campers. The showers are hot and there are two bath houses. Vault toilets nearby loops but they super stink and never get hosed down. We will camp here a couple of times a year for several reasons but will sometimes look to other campgrounds to find more peace and quiet.
