My second stay at Longwood, but wont be my last. Staff take great care of this facility, and are super friendly and helpful. The result is a clean and functional camping experience. I found the Bath house fixtures dated, but they were always clean and everything worked. Outhouses were clean and typically smelled fresh. My gravel site was large, level and blown, with no leftover trash from previous campers. It allowed me to focus on the beauty of this lakeside environment. This site has beachfront access and view.

Setting on the lake was beautiful. Campsites are much closer than they seemed to be on the map. My wife and I arrived on site in time to set up camp and make dinner before dark. It seemed like a great spot, even though site 13, next to us was very close, but no one was in it. Around 10:00 pm campers arrived there. They started setting up their campsite with no regards to their noise level or respect for other campers. They played loud music, talked loudly and cackled all night. I called the number for assistance provided but no one answered. Finally at 3:14 I decided to try to go to my car to try to sleep but decided to yell at them to be quiet instead. To no avail. They were still going on at 5:00 am. I checked the reservations for the campground on my phone and saw that there was a vacant site a few sites down. I reported the neighbors to the hostess, Sue Pennock, and she said she was very sorry and would let the ranger know, but that if there were any incidents in the future I should call 911 as the local sheriff's office were night time security. She said we could move to the other vacant site. So we spent about an hour in the morning setting up camp again in the new site. Later Sue informed us that the ranger stopped by and talked to the other campers, and that they said that they weren't aware of a 10:00 pm noise curfew. That night they started in again; playing loud music, screaming and yelling, and cackling--(a hideous high pitched laugh). Even though we were farther away and went to Lowes for earplugs it was still very disruptive. At around 9:45 I called 911 to let the sheriffs know that they were extremely loud and that it might be a good idea to have someone on site at 10:00 to enforce the curfew. The noise carried on until around 2:00 am. They were still on site in the morning. In the end, nothing happened and they will probably return. Sue Pennock was very nice and understanding, but this campground is not well supervised at night.
