A favorite quiet, well organized and well run camping area. Awesome team at the gate. Bring strong tent pegs!!!!! Practice your backing in skills before arrival. Some sites have very steep inclines or declines.

Some campsites have very steep incline from the road to the actual spot. Site number 53 in B Loop had approximately a 20-ft driveway from the road to the site and at least a 5 ft incline. I had a bit of difficulty backing my trailer into this spot as well as other spots in that particular area like the spot of the Hill next to me. At the very least I think there should be a little more detail on the website when booking a specific site, to alert campers of situations like this. Without four wheel drive I would not have made it up that incline.

North Bend Campground Is an amazing vacation destination! Lake Kerr makes the North Bend campground our familys favorite camping experience. Lake Kerr is the cleanest lake I have ever experienced. The campgrounds are in immaculate condition. Everything is maintained and well groomed. The entire campground is clean. The views of the lake and damn are amazing. We have seen bald eagles almost ever time we camp at North Bend. There are plenty of campsites close to the water giving campers a beautiful view. The staff, and rangers at North Bend are amazing as well!

View of the water front was amazing, sites were fairly clean. Although bathrooms and showers were quite far from the campsite we had its camping so cant really complain for even having the amenities. Firewood needed to be purchased prior to arrival and there are a few places to get them on the way or just bring your own. Sites were very shaded and if you wanted sun just head over to the waterfront where it wasnt far at all. If you had a canoe or stand up paddle board there was nearly no wakes and the water was not cold at all even for being close to fall, Id suggest just stay away from the boat ramp for the water got a little rougher there. All in all great experience, park rangers were helpful staff was awesome and friendly. Be mindful of other camper with just rude attitudes and acting like the world owes them something (typical now adays) but dont let that ruin your camp experience, majority were kind and elderly that camp full time. Dogs, there were a lot of dogs barking at night so maybe bring earplugs and try not having your dogs if you have any join their barking.

We come to North Bend several times a year, to join our friends who have been coming for 30 years. We started coming 11 years ago ourselves, and then 2 years ago upon returning to NC, with our 7 year old daughter. We are coming back in September for another week. That said, I picked up garbage in the woods for an hour near our site, and found no soap or sanitizer in multiple bathrooms. We remember when you had to bring your own soap, but in light of the situation, this wasnt positive. We appreciate all the staff does on a daily basis, and know its been a tough season.
