Nice park, mostly focused on boating and swimming. Not really any hiking nearby.
The shower/bath facilities are excellent. Cleaner than most places I've been, and they have individual private showers with locking doors. These also feature hot and cold controls so you aren't stuck with scalding hot showers like a lot of campgrounds.
Some parts of the campground the sites are packed kind of tight. So if you value peace and quiet your best bet is to pay attention to the map, and perhaps look for a site farther from the water.

Very friendly staff and park rangers. Spacious campsites. Clean restroom facilities. Bicycle trails and safe playgrounds.

We had reserved 4 months ago for another park (longwood) on Kerr Lake, but that was canceled by ACOE since the lake level was rising rapidly. I was lucky enough to find one of the 2 available electric sites remaining in the park. Toilet house was extremely convenient in this loop (B). The site we stayed in was moderately private, with a view of the water through the trees. The only park staff I interacted with was the lady at the check in kiosk. The toilet houses were cleaned frequently by a contracting service. Everything worked and at a fair price. We found the Tailrace Park an interesting place to see various kinds of waterfowl and learn about the dam operation.
