We were there for the change over from regular reserved sites to first come first served winter camping. Our original site closed at 2 PM on Nov 1. We had to stand in line at the gate house for 2.5 hours to change site to the "winter camping" loop ( and many other campers who were already on site on that loop) So, beware of camping during that changeover. Apart from that inconvenience, the park is beautiful and the facilities well maintained. The water was cut off on Nov 1 as promised, but we were able to fill our fresh tank 2/3 full before the cutoff. Also, 2 of 3 bathhouses were also locked. There are 24 sites in the FFS loop, so be prepared to not get a site, especially on a weekend. You will probably have better luck traveling mid week,

I was under the impression that there was going to be a crackdown on generators running 24 hours day on non-electric sites. Large motor homes and campers are constantly pulling into these non-electric sites and running generator all day and night. if you post you're going to stop this practice, then enforce it. These generators take away from the tranquility of the campground. If the majority of us with motorhomes and campers can book and use electric sites, then there should be an understanding that non-electric sites are just what they say, non-electric and not a generator city. The number of ranger patrols was also at an all-time low for the two weeks we were there. Usually, we see rangers patrolling consistently. Their presence really does help keep the calm but there was hardly a presence. This was our third visit this year and the patrols were definitely way less that past visits.

Stayed at site 129. Nice waterfront site. Great beach area. We fished, kayaked, rode bikes and swam. One of our favorite parks.
