Sharon, Jo & Syd were excellent campground hosts. The hosts introduced themselves shortly after my arrival. The hosts were very informative about fire restrictions and answered all my questions. The hosts were very friendly. I was traveling solo and the hosts stopped by to say hello when passing by during the day. I felt very safe. The restrooms and campground were very clean. I throughly enjoyed my stay here. Thanks Sharon, Jo & Syd!

There is no longer a dedicated camp host. Now it is some kind of volunteer rotation. Guess how the bathrooms were? The smell of sewage could be smelled from 3 camp sites away. I could not even enter the bathroom because the stench was so bad. The one bathroom I could open the door, it had no toilet paper and 50+ flies swarming! We left after one night and will not be returning. Way to go federal govt trying to save a few bucks and leaving the camp to some redneck trash to manage.

Always love, Christopher Creek and have been coming to this campground for years. As someone who enjoys to camp alone, I find comfort in camping at campgrounds with hosts and a few amenities available. However, I am very disappointed in the current hosts that are running this location. I camped for 4 days and never once did anyone stop by to greet me or check me in. Bathrooms are neglected. There were many instances of the host racing through the loops in their golf cart their dog running off leash beside them and children dangling off the sides of the golf cart. The hosts offered no sense of comfort, but instead made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I really hope this is their only season here.

Nice and quiet campground, sites are well spaced apart. However, Latrene #8 was unusable due to intense ammonia smell.

This spot was perfect, large enough for a tent and camper. Good cell coverage. No shower or sink facilities onsite, just be aware. The creek is beautiful and we enjoyed the great shade. There were a lot of loud families camping during our trip. The constant screaming and crying got overwhelming for our group. This isnt controllable by the site, but did dampen the relaxation of the weekend.

The area was beautiful, clean. The bathrooms were up kept, they had drinking water available. The camping site itself was a good amount of space. Not right on top of each other. The creek was close had some fish and crawfish, lovely hiking/walking trails. The kids can't wait to go back.

Our stay was amazing!! Everything went smoothly and the camp hosts were gracious. The one thing I wish I had known before going was they changed their wood carrying policy. Each time I’ve gone, I’ve always bought wood at the campsite. This time, no wood, so I had to scour the town of Payson for wood. The camp host told me it was on the website that they no longer have wood. Well, once you have reservations, and since they’ve always had in the past, you typically aren’t going back to the site to see if something changed. A better way of handling should have been via email to let users know there is no more wood being sold on site. I was not the only camper caught off guard.
Other than that, the stay was great!

Born and raised in Payson , I'm shocked I've never stayed here before now. Although I prefer dispersed camping away from the crowds...this was a nice treat for a mother/daughter camp-date. Very kid friendly. The host was very nice , welcoming, and informative. She's was a whole vibe to the campground!(wish I could remember her name!) The camp plots were spacious--plenty of room for tents and hammocks. However, most of the trails ran right through the camps to the water. There were people all day walking through the camp ...wasnt an issue thankfully. They were all respectful. BUT ...Zero privacy-neighbors are all super close. Everyone can see and hear everything you do. With is a total drag when you're next to the creek and can't even hear the water run peacefully because you can hear everyone talking. I won't trade dispersed camping for this ever, but I'd stay here again. It was a nice and cozy little getaway.

Great spot close to the creek. My babies had so much fun soaking their feet and catching crawfish. Campground is well maintained and bathrooms were clean. We’re repeat visitors and always enjoy seeing Roger- super friendly, very welcoming- always enhances our experience with his chill vibe. Looking forward to our next trip!
