The park is great, the sites are nice, but the lack of electricity makes a summer visit to this park pretty unbearable. We'll come back when there are electric sites.

We walked the nearby Jones Creek Trail and saw wild horses and a bison walking on the trail. We gave him space. We also went to the Medora Musical and Pitchfork fondue dinner. Both were amazing. It’s about 5 miles to the Visitors Center which you drive past on the way to the campground. At first we weren’t sure how to get to the campground.

The site was very muddy and frankly unusable. We ended up in a private campground.

When I booked the site it stated I could fit with my 36 ft 5th wheel camper. It was all that was available. My unit could not fit into the site. The length wasn't the issue. There was an overhanging tree that made the site impossible to get into. I tried to back in the site instead an ended up tearing the air dam on the underside of my front bumper on the vertical posts lining the road. Fortunately the next site was open for that night and I moved into it.. the booking site should ask about unit height as well as length.

It's a nice campground to spend the night at. My only negative is being able to hear trucks off the interstate, because of the echo coming from the canon. If your a light sleeper you might want to bring ear plugs.

I was on my way to visit friends in Boise Idaho. Having only seen the Park from the interstate, I was curious about the rest of it. I was pleasantly surprised. The presentation at the amphitheater was a bonus. Great experience.
