Stayed two nights in late September. Beautiful view of the mountains and the river. Abundant stars. Level tent site, nice picnic table. Convenient and clean restroom. Trash and recycling receptacles. Quiet campground even though it was well populated. Lots of dogs on leashes, joggers, cyclists. A nice experience.

Stayed in site#55 along the river. Beautiful view, especially at sunset. Wild horses on other side of river at sunset and in the morning. Bison roaming nearby and coyotes sang us to sleep. Must drive the scenic drive.

Site 55 says walk in but it's about 20 steps. Tent pad fit our 12x15 with plenty of space. No shade for the tent tho. Gorgeous view looking west across the river to the meadow with daily wildlife sitings. Restrooms very clean, there's a sink outside for dishes. Would come here again in a heartbeat.

Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Tent sites are clean and well maintained and not too close together. Took my dog for the 4th of July to avoid fireworks which make her crazy. Pleased to report no one violated the no fireworks rule even on the 4th. The landscape is inspiringly beautiful.

We stayed at site #55 and would return immediately! It's right by the riverside, and we encountered a group of wild horses grazing in the riverbed when we arrived. Our last day, a bison came across the river and walked through another tentsite nearby. It's a great spot for watching colors change during sunset. We were also close to the flush toilets and potable water. Technically you park and walk to the site, but it's the first site next to the parking area, so it was very convenient!

Beautifully kept campground with amazing views! The staff and volunteers there are kind and personable. The bathrooms were incredibly clean, and the service sink was handy for rinsing larger items. My daughter enjoyed the Junior Ranger Program and attending the nightly Ranger Talks in the outdoor amphitheater. Overall, I highly recommend this campground!

Amazing spot. Spots right on the lake. Camp host was amazing. even lent us some foot long stakes when a storm hit to help secure our tarp. Super scenic, right on the lake , caught several good sized trout. Even caught a few right on the beach. I would tell you what I used, but wouldnt that take the fun out of it ? :)

Cottonwood Campground is very nice, but is not only without showers, it does not have a sink for washing dishes. This makes it much for difficult for tent camping.
