Nice campground. We were on the outside of the loop with a great view. Restrooms were clean.

Beautiful campground, great hosts. Very clean toilets. Lots of wildlife in the campground itself. Wish I had stayed two nights and not just a stopover

Without a doubt the best site in the park. Plenty of space for a 10' x 14' tent and each morning we were there a bison by the river in the morning. Very Clean bathrooms and quiet. Awesome

Beautiful site along the Little Missouri River. The nearest bathhouse was closed during our stay, but the other in the loop was open and available.

The campground was not prepared for campers on 5/12/2022 when we arrived. No water to fill our RV tank before we headed to our site. The only water spigot working had stripped threads so no hose would work. They only had one bathroom unlocked as well for tent campers. The rangers seamed unsure of what was going on at Cottonwood Campground. The setting was nice with sites along the river but dont expect to have you Rv door facing the beautiful view. One way circle so any site on the river your Rv door will face the road. If you choose to go into the do not enter way you can set up facing the river. But when you leave you might create a tragic jam. Park of the loop park road is closed. I drove 2700 miles. I would give it a 6 out of 10.

I reserved two sites, as I could not get the same site two consecutive nights. I stayed the first night in Site 43 and was so mad about the site I was stuck with I left and went elsewhere miles away the second night. I had it with this campground after this experience and wont be back. This is NOT a campsite and it is NOT in a campground. It is a parking spot on the side of the main road going in to where the real camping is. You have to haul your stuff down a hill to eat at the table. Its inconvenient and unenjoyable.I feel this site, and the others like it, were labeled as campsites simply to make money and crowd the park even more. It is quite obvious that they are probably picnic sites.

Spectacular spot! Just lovely, we took a stroll down to the river and when we arrived there was a bison at the entrance! The only hiccup was the location of the bathrooms - we couldn't find a public route in so you have to walk in/between campsites to get there.
