We were only able to stay one night, but it was a good one. We had just come from a state park that was full of activity and campers were always busy moving in and out on all sides if us. JIM Hogg was a quiet place, and very pretty, as we stayed in one of the more wooded sites. It’s set back deep into a neighborhood area, so there is absolutely no traffic noise which is completely different from the state park we had been at. We do appreciate the larger spots and private pavilions at the Army Corps of Engineers parks and this park is no exception. In addition, we really liked the quiet as well. We’ll be back if we can.

We love coming to park often since we live so close. We've noticed a lot of campers parking on grass, lots of people not picking up after their dogs!! Only saw park ranger once in the 5 days! Volunteers drive around and don't do anything like picking up trash like we do when walking!! So what is expected of volunteers??? Free rent???

The nicest camp hosts you could hope for, Daniel was extremely helpful.
I would stay there again and recommend it. The restrooms could use some maintenance attention shower heads too loose, shower floors could uae some clorox cleaning. Camp grounds were nice.

Park was clean and well kept. Unfortunately,we were pummeled by the unusual Texas freeze that froze everything up and made quite a mess. Had to leave, but hope to return someday.
