The RV spots are beautiful. Some of the picnic shelters need new roofs. The bathrooms badly need a complete overhaul. They stink and are very rundown. You could do so much better! I wish you had RV spots at Russell Park. Our kids wanted to swim, so every day we had to pack up food and gear and drive over to the other side of the lake to swim.

This was our first time to stay overnight in the camp but second time to visit. I love how close it is to our home, especially if you forget something! We are tent campers not RV's, so it is nice that there is some shade to put your tent. The lots are a good size and love the picnic area. We will definetly be back, hopefully sooner than later.

Generally: Enjoyed our stay. Only saw one volunteer in 6 days. They were cordial and told us where to locate them if needed. Good part: The campground was spacious. Really enjoyed the table and cover. Plenty of shower and toilet locations. Toilet paper was in good supply. Plenty of garbage bins. Bad: The campground is old looking; repairs are not being made. The grill was totally unusable; rusty, ash filled, crooked. The occupancy per space was over what is usually allowed; multiple families in spaces with cars parked everywhere. The bath and toilet facility could have used a good pressure washing. Hot water was almost non-existent. We would stay again but only during the week when the crowds have gone.

Great park. Clean bath houses, spacious camp sites and fishing. We enjoyed it for 5 days as a break from travel.

Wonderful park! Great views of Lake Georgetown. Park hosts were very nice & professional. Only issue I had was they ran out of park maps, & I couldnt find the trail heads were you can walk around the lake. I would say there were not identified well or at all from the Jim Hogg park location.

We were only there for an overnight stop but were pleasantly surprised at the park. Each site had nice covered picnic tables had plenty of room between sites. We had a nice lakeside view with plenty of tree shade. We did not have a need for the showers but they looked clean. The check in employee was vey friendly.

We enjoyed Jim Hogg Park in Georgetown. The park is clean with lovely views of Lake Georgetown that has a boat ramp and fishing pier. It does not feel like you are literally minutes to Georgetown and surrounding towns with anything you could possibly need. There were deer and lots of birds in the park and many of the rv spots had nice shade trees and the picnic tables had nice structures to provide shade and protection from the elements. Some areas got crowded over the weekend but we will definitely be returning in the future.

The whole site is not as well maintained as it used to be - dirty barbecue pits, grass needs to be cut more often, dirty picnics - all due to staff shortage I guess..but the lake view is still worth the stay!

Wonderful experience. The lots are large. Most waterfront lots don't have much shade, but have a nice breeze coming off the lake. Non-waterfront lots are generally spacious.

I would like to to warn everyone about Jim Hogg Park and Georgetown Lake so everyone can stay away and let us come back anytime — because it is a series of wonderful experiences. The spaces are huge, and they all have nice and large covered picnic areas! The water front lots have awe-inspiring views of the lake and hills with delightful breeze, while the inland sites are surrounded by beautiful trees and greenery for a great get-away that you will not want to leave. All sites have water and electricity (30 & 50). The folks at the front gate are very nice, and the park volunteers monitor the park throughout the day to make the experience pleasant for everyone. If you book this location, please safe a spot for us and our camper.

We loved camping on green grass, and we loved that we were right next to the lake. We could walk down to the lake right near our camp. It was a perfect camping trip. And great sunsets.
