It was good. The people camping next to us had 3 dogs, one he didn't have a lease. Two of them got out of there rv and came over to our campsite and started chasing out Chihuahua which was on a leash. He did apologize but still didn't put it on a leash and continued to let him run outside. The host was even walking and the dog ran up to him barking. Nothing was said about it not being on a leash. If I have to restrain my animals by putting them on a leash others should too.

It's always a nice visit to Jim Hogg Park. As the crow flies, we live only 11 miles away, so it's nice to have a space like this so close to home. Randall's (Albertson's) is right up the road, so we never have to stock the trailer before going. We park, set up, and then we get groceries - it also gives the camper time to cool down while we are out. There are also restaurants close by, and a shout-out to Phoever Diner next to Randalls for great Vietnamese food.

The bathrooms were AWFUL. Doors left open so leaves, etc. blew in. No heat, of course. And lack privacy except for in the shower stall itself. Gotta dry off and get dressed in public!! Yikes. And the first building we tried, the water was barely warm. It was very cold when we were there. Record lows. We did like our campsite.

I stayed in site #58. That site backed to the water and no neighbors super close by. My friends were right across from me, which worked out perfect.
I can recommend Catfish Parlour, lunch or dinner and you are very close to Georgetown/Austin for Rudy's and other restaurants. Lots of small towns near by with lots of history. I highly recommend this COE park.

Wide, open spaces, great view of the lake from the campsite. Only problem was the uneven slab every time we came out of our RV, had to be extra cautious of the loose and broken pavement.

The facility was nice. I was a bit frustrated that my site had a grill that was not operational. I contacted the office and they advised me that they have had new grills on hand but did not replace our sites grill yet. I am thankful that the site next to me was empty, I took advantage and used that grill. It would have been nice if I was advised of this prior to showing up so I could have had an opprtunity to choose a different site prior to completely setting up my rig and realizing this issue after the fact.
