We stayed in 70-79 area. Lots of shade close to restrooms and overflow parking. We have a 36ft 5th wheel. Easy to back in and had 50 Amp service. You can see the water from this area (we had site 72). We were with a large group. Area is clean and we'll maintained. Be aware of chiggers and other problem bugs. Spray your ankles well to keep ground critters away. We like that Jim Hogg is close to Georgetown for shopping, ice and restaurants. The Lake is up! We saw so many folks out on the water having fun. Our visit was the first week of June. Pretty warm. We plan on many more trips to Jim Hogg.

Easy access to campsites. It's a one way. Clean restrooms. The water temperature in the rr showers could be a little warmer.

Great park, friendly staff. The only reason I didnt rate it 5-star is that the leash rule was not enforced. A teenager wanting to fish had to drop his gear and run from a loose dog that was chasing him. Another time we saw people at the site next to us with dogs not leashed, and the dogs confronted a man walking his dog on a leash. Other than that, excellent place to stay, and we had great mobile service also (T-Mobile).

Jim Hogg is one of our favorite parks. We are not hikers but I think the trails are very nice. We enjoy the natural woods and space between sites. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

Our first time at this park. We enjoyed our time here for 3 days. Its really a hidden gem, large campsite with cover, pit, fire ring. We walked on a trail to the rocky edge of water, saw boaters, jet ski's, pontoons. Had a very quite and pleasant stay, and would definitely stay again.
