Great spot and park. Lots of room from site to site. Well shade area and the cover picnic table, with pad is close to a grill and fire ring.

Be careful following trails. Even though I came to a sign with an arrow pointing both left and right, the trail to the left just disappeared. I ended up coming into the back of a gated community and had it not been for an Amazon delivery driver, I would not have been able to get through the gate to the road.My chosen site was very nice. Trees and good space between the campsites. Only other complaint is that bathrooms are far. Once I'm leveled in my Class B van, I have to walk or ride my bike to the restroom. Normally, I would not complain about this, but I had knee replacement surgery last summer and wanted to save my limited abilities for hiking on trails!

I have been visiting Jim Hogg park on Georgetown Lake for years and have never been greeted by such hostility by the "hosts". After a 33hour, 1200 mile drive, I arrived three hours before check in time. I was acausted by the "hosts" and told that I had to leave the park until check in time, 3pm and if I did not leave the park they would call the police. I am a harmless 68 year old. I just wanted to park in the "overflow parking" lot and get some rest until I could move into my reserved space at 3pm. After this harrasment, I drove to the gate to explain my situation and that I had a two week reservation that began in three hours. The "greeter" at the gate radioed the "host" and said "did you tell a person in a Shasta to leave the park?, he isn't leaving and told the "host" to go ahead and call the police". Call the police on a visitor with a paid reservation because he arrived three hours early? This is rediculous and I will not be returning to Jim Hogg park as long as these "hosts" are volunteering there.

Nice park. 117 is a nice shady spot in the the north side camping area. Next time will try to get a lake view spot or try to get in Cedar Breaks.

We didn't spend much time outside, as we were visiting relatives. The campground was nice. Sites were roomy. It was Thanksgiving week and the campground was very busy. Not noisy, just busy. It was nice to see families enjoying the outside.

We loved our visit. The park host was very helpful to us in accommodating our after 6 pm arrival. Our site was clean, shady and very relaxing. We look forward to future stays.

We had incredible weather. The walking trails are great, but not bicycle friendly unless you have a good quality mountain bike as there are a lot of rocks. The beginning of the trails should be marked better, but I get there is not much money for "stuff" like that. The north loop is more shaded with trees. Most of the south loop is fairly open and therefore less shaded, but with great views of the lake. The park staff was very friendly when we were there. I appreciated that they seemed to keep the noise down after 10 pm which was very nice !!! We stayed TEN NIGHTS in early October and look forward to going back.
