We have been camping at Holiday park for more than 30 years. My kids were young when we started camping and now they're in their mid 30's and have kids of their own. This is a great park for camping with the whole family or just my husband and I. This is a great place to relax and unwind. If you're more active it's also a great for biking, kayaking, boating and fishing. Holiday park is one of our families favorite places to camp.

GET YOUR GATE CODE WORKING! Ridiculous to ask campers to have to park outside the gate after 10:00 p.m.. then have to walk past the gate and to their campsite.

We like this site. Be mindful that site does not have shade, full sun throughout the day. Your AC will be working overtime in the Texas summer. 🙂

The location is amazing, you can get to the Fort Worth Stock Yards in 30 mins while being totally secluded from any highway noise. Waking up to the sunrise over the lake every morning was amazing. We walked for miles along the lake and on the trails.

The only negative thing we have to say relates to the bathrooms/shower houses. They were disgusting!!! Broken stall doors, urinal ripped off the wall, paint peeling everywhere. We normally use the shower houses as much as possible to keep from having to dump our tanks partway through the stay, but that just wasn't an option here.

Nice staff at check in. My only concern was that when I arrived after 7 pm on Friday night, there was a person with their backpack and dog set up in my assigned reserved camping spot using the electric. I pulled up to the entrance of the pull thru spot and waited for two minutes and nothing happened. Then I turned my dome light on and pulled up my cell phone so it was visible in the window and started to look up an emergency number vs. backing up and going back to the check in booth. At that point the squatter hurriedly packed their stuff up and walked away into the night darkness. Just thought your park would want to know this. Beautiful camping spot by the lake.

First solo camping trip. I had a few issues with setting up and then there was that big storm that was scary but all in all it was a great trip. I reserved another campsite for later in the spring.

Always a favorite--even better in a travel trailer!

wonderful experience. the bath houses need some updating. ALL bathrooms should have soap dispensers so you can clean your hands after using the toilet facilities and sadly these had none

Location is great, but maintenance, landscaping, and facilities just keep getting in worse condition. Desparately need a coded entry gate like other Corps parks. No need to be staffing gatehouse hours if coded gate was added and campers could come and go at later hours. Benbrook self check-in coded gate system would be a good example.Grass mowing looked like a 7 year old was let loose with a riding mower leaving clumps of grass everywhere and no trimming was done at all. Gave a very seedy look to the park and the campsites. Bath houses desperately need a can of paint and someone maintaining them properly. Correct size toilet seats and completely bolting them on would help immensely along with some paint, screen repair and general maintenance.Seems to be one of the biggest staffs living there, but not sure what they do other than man the gatehouse hours.

We just went to relax for weekend. That part was nice. Lake front site and weather was great.

Beautiful location. The park is dated and in need of a face-lift. The pavement everywhere is crumbling w/potholes filled gravel. Many pull-through sites have utilities located on the wrong side. With some much needed maintenance, this park could be a gem!

Showers and toilets need work. Dump station is in disrepair and needs a hose.

Stayed at Site #38 . Parking area very uneven. Electrical box had a WASP nest. I was bitten by a wasp. Staff did'nt seem concern.

A warm November weekend was a terrific time to camp. The bathrooms were clean, not as run down as some reviews have noted in the past, the water spigot at the campsite had been recently replaced, the electric worked, and the grass was low and tidy everywhere. (Some people recommended bringing a weed eater to clear their campsite in the summer, but it hasnt rained much in months, and the summer grass was already fading away for our visit.) The fishing pier was in good repair, and only one other pier was roped off, in need of repair. The front gate staff was friendly and clear about the rules. The playground was roped off, presumably for COVID. Family-friendly vibe at South Holiday Park, with kids and bikes and lots of dogs, but nothing annoying. Great place to ride bikes with minimal traffic and surrounding paved trails in the area. The lake was low, but still beautiful, plenty of depth for fishing and boating. We hit the jackpot with the weather- upper 70s with slight breezes. Would love to go back.

We were in spot 38 which is right in front of the lake, Its a very beautiful spot, probably has the best views, and the lot itself is huge so there was plenty of room (about 1/4 acre). Even though its a huge spot there still isn't much privacy. There are two big trees but they are not close to the electric box and water, bring a few 50ft or 100ft extension cords and you will be able to camp in the shade under the trees. The grass needed to be cut and that was frustrating.... ALOT of spiders, VERY big spiders EVERYWHERE (Grass being cut would of helped with spiders and tent assembly)! Low mosquitos but a lot of wasps by the water (son got bit four times in the face). Staff is very friendly... and they leave you alone once you pass through the gate. Overall very beautiful and peaceful. We will be going again!

Great place to camp; lots of trees and water. Near to Fort Worth; lots of activities, museums, and site seeing.
