Poor customer service from the host when we acquired about alternative sites, with no options offered and a "not my problem" attitude. Overall campground was dirty and sites not cleaned between guests. Stayed in other COE sites with excellent results but our experience here was bad. Will never return to this location.

of course the bath house nearest the gatehouse needs replacing and hopefully that can be done this winter. also maintenance of the trees could use an increase. especially removal of the dead trees and planting of new ones.

We've stayed at a few different sites here at South Holiday Park with very good results. However, site 046 was without a doubt, absolutely terrible. Site 046 is over run by fire ants, thousands to perhaps millions of them. We were stung a lot in several different places at this site (under the old tree, under the pavilion, on the concrete ground and even within our own trailer. We are covered in ant bites on our feet, legs, hands, back, neck and even a few on our heads while we slept. The fire ants infested our concrete table and our new trailer and we had to completely tear everything down to get rid of them and for reference, we did not have any food in our trailer. We were frightened by several black carpenter ants roughly the size of a dime or penny in length but they did not harm us. But, they were massive ants! The old tree located at this site continuously pelted us with falling debris (small little branches and tons of tiny leaves / twigs). Site 046 also contained an overwhelming amount of spiders. We killed somewhere around 130 - 150 spiders. The mosquitos were in force there as well but that is to be expected since we were close to the lake. The water spigot was easily accessible but the water itself was heavily infused with what we believed to be insecticide or some harsh chemical(s) that left a heavy chemical odor embedded in our skin. Finally, site 046 is situated almost within spitting distance of site 045... meaning there is no reasonable expectation of privacy or enjoying a little more spacious area to camp like the other sites that we have visited within this park. Although our experience(s) up to this point within South Holiday Park have been very good, site 046 was a complete nightmare. This is an honest review for ONLY site 046, not the other sites that we have stayed in South Holiday Park in the past.
