I appreciate the security to keep people from entering the campground area unless they are paid patrons. Keeps all of us a lot safer. I was very discouraged to see the conditions of the restrooms/showers just to the right of the guard shack. Glad I didn't have to use that facility. Really needs to be closed until repaired.

Overall a good clean camp ground with the exception of grass being a little overgrown the weekend we were there and the front restrooms need repairs and a remodel (rear restrooms were fairly new and clean). Would go back again.

Excellent place! Beautiful scenery. Clean. Great bathrooms including cleanliness, excellent water pressure & temperature. Quiet. Will return! Many great sites.

I was here for 2 weeks in August/September 2024. Loved the campground. Campsites were large compared to most I've seen, and the deer and wild turkeys would roam so close to my site. Showers were clean and well-maintained. I love the large private-room style bathroom/shower set-up. A few problems over Labor Day weekend with the power shutting off due to overload, and on Monday the water had a strong bleach taste to it. I asked about it at the guard shack and the lady was less than friendly and not at all helpful, said "I used it to make my coffee this morning and it was fine." Biggest problem was the ants. There was nowhere my dogs could go to the bathroom and not get their feet instantly covered in ants. I get it's camping but we've never had this problem at any other campground. Unlikely I'll be back for that reason alone.

I am very disappointed to hear the Corp of Engineers is planning to close off the park road between North and South Holiday Park to runners, walkers and cyclist. This road allows safe passage from the campground all the way to the Trinity Trail network in Fort Worth and will be sorely missed by thousands of users.I was unable to pay for an extended stay at 7:35 PM on 11/11/23. I was told by the gate attendant that my payment would not be accepted because the gate house closes at 8PM. I had to leave without securing my campsite for the next night. After some delay the morning of the 12th because the attendant was having trouble logging on to the reservation system, I finally paid and secured my site for that evening. On the afternoon of 11/12, this same gate attendant rolled up on me while I was trying to relax seated in my pickup truck in a parking area near the campground. She told me to return to my campsite. I was not told why I had to leave the area, the woman just backed up and drove away with no explanation. I returned to my campsite as instructed.I found the senior park ranger very helpful and courteous Friday afternoon the 10th when I went to the Corp office to obtain permission to stay in the park two days beyond the 14 day limit.I did not find the woman gate attendant helpful or courteous on Saturday the 11th and I feel she overstepped her authority by telling me to return to my campsite on Sunday the 12th.

Very quiet for the most part, except rude campers with dogs they let bark!! Lots of space between sites. Reasonable price, would stay again

The staff at the gatehouse was super friendly and helpful. The park was in good condition. I was disappointed to see that the new electric pedestal at my site did not have 50 amp service despite having the receptacle in place. The receptacle was covered/blocked with electrical tape. Fortunately I did not require 50 amp service for the RV I was using at the time. My other, larger RV does require 50 amp.

I was very disappointed to see so many people living in tents with tarps strung up around their site, multiple dogs and even house plants placed about! I saw one woman I’ve seen in the park in the past living “camping” in her car. I’m sure the Corps and gate staff try to limit this kind of park use but also sure people find a way around stay limits. I had to plan my trip to Holiday Park around availability. I can’t help but think the days I preferred were booked in part by people “squatting” full time in the park. The US Army Corps of Engineers recreation areas should be for RECREATION only… not a place for folks to set up residence.

Our campsite was changed four times due to Eletrical box switch outs. We were supposed to stay 4days three nights and on the last night the Eletrical box melted our trailer cord the breaker didn’t flip on the site box. I tried contacting someone and haven’t heard back.

The campsite was good. Nice roads to walk on, but the fields around the campsites were covered with burr grass and will not be usable.
