Park hosts and staff were all great. Close to Ft Worth to see sites if visiting the area and close off the highway. The facilities were OK, had a very large group that weekend that probably overwhelmed staffers. Camp rules should be given out or posted as many of the tent camps that weekend seemed not to have amy camping etiquette. The only drawback was having tent sites with RV sites, at least at this park. Vehicle lights being on into the night shining into other camps as well as quiet time wasnt observed. Thats not the fault of the facility, but drive arounds by park staff could have minimized. One tent camp even left their fire burning after they left on Sunday, thankfully several RV campers used water to put it out. Good thing it wasnt a primitive site where water wouldnt have been available.

Agriculture not taken care of. Dirty bathrooms. Garbage at the campsites. There was human fecal matter at my campsite ( I took Pictures). No one returns or any correspondence through army Corp of engineers. Garbage overflowing. I was ther a week and never saw anyone take care of the grounds. The volunteer area looks like a homeless encampment. The garbage recepticals by the volunteers were full of beer case boxes.

We had a very enjoyable time at this campground. The gate hosts were always friendly and helpful with a big smile! Very welcoming and refreshing in these times. The campsites were clean and enjoyed the lighthouse electrical hookup. Just enough light to be helpful. Also, the big yards are super. A great experience!Enjoyed watching the deer - thankfully missed seeing the Mountain Lion. Thankful to all!

It was a clean quiet Park too cold to swim but the nature trail was a long a borderline fence and didn't have much to show except trees which are beautiful

Note: at 10:00 the gates lock. No grace period. My mother in law was near death and wed packed up in a big hurry and run to Fort Worth. Stayed late with her before leaving wife with her and making a mad dash to campground. Unfortunately an 18 wheeler was hooking up to a wrecker and fully blocked the road causing a 10 minute detour. I ended up spending the night on a residential street a few miles away. Not the parks fault at all. They say they lock up at 10:00. So dont show up at 10:05 and expect to get in.

Great, except no sewer hookup, my husband had to empty the grey water tank (showers) and wound up hurting his back trying to hook the honeypot onto the truck! Not their fault at all, but it kind of created a damper on our vacation :/. Also, the site did have a cement pad, but the sides where our steps were at was broken up and very uneven, I had to wind up using our back door where the ground was more level (I have knee problems). Other than that, they are very nice at the gate, and very quiet! Don't think to use the public toilets/showers! Only one toilet working, can't even see your reflection in the mirror and the shower curtains are ripped and have friends (spiders) :O

The best I can say about this park is that it is the least expensive option in the area. The grass desperately needed mowing - they finally mowed the last day of our stay. The cleanliness of the restrooms left a lot to be desired. Not only were they not clean, but the shower curtains in the women's restroom were badly torn. Not much attention is paid to the rules, namely, the number of vehicles parked at individual sites.

Maybe have a Map of trails around.Perfect to visit Fort Worth without staying in the city.
