We stayed in a tent at Midway Park spot 25 and didn't realize that the area where we set up our tent was covered in poison ivy. Needless to say we had to get a steroid shot, antibiotics, and creme for the numerous red spots all over our bodies. Also the restrooms were not kept clean over the weekend and no toilet paper replace. Otherwise the camp was fine.

The park is very small and close to a busy road. If you can get a spot next to the lake you will have good views but still will be able to hear lots of road noise. Some of the spots near the road have full hookups. The restrooms needed attention. One shower head was off the wall. There was no soap at the sinks. We were there while it was cold and the restrooms are not heated. No hiking or biking trails. This park might be good if you are stopping overnight or a couple of days.

The camp sites were clean. There was however one problem. In the 15 to 20years of camping in the central Texas area my family and I have never had an experience like we did on this outing. We had our water turned off and our grandchildren were made fill uncomfortable at the playground. I could go on.

Great Park and campsite. We took off the day before Thanksgiving heading west from Alabama. The only plan we had was to make it to Texas. When we explored COE campsites in Waco, this seemed to be a good choice. It was. We spent two nights. Anytime you can get a site at a COE campsite, it is well worth the trouble. But the day after Thanksgiving, this was no trouble. If I ever head that way again, this is on the list. Next time I will take my time to enjoy the camp more than Waco. Both are great places. We enjoyed our time there.

The campsite was great. Nice and clean. However, the grass all around was super tall with chiggers and poison ivy is all over the areas leading to the water.

Love all the Corp parks, so clean, trees were beautiful with the snow on them. We don't see that in central Texas very often.
