Well the squirrels did me in. Chewed holes in 3 water hoses. 1st time in 3 years full timing I had to deal with that issue. One of the gate staff was less than pleasant. Sad that the ACOE have contracted the grass cutting out. The grass/weeds were knee deep right outside of my door. Was told they cut 1x per month!! Thats a bit long. There were also many dead cedar/evergreen trees that were dead so the needles were everywhere!! Bathrooms were not clean and were dark and gloomy.

I always have a wonder time at this park. Great park staff. Always friendly and accommodating. Love watching the wildlife.

Great location close to town. 15 Min from Magnolia Table if you are a fan. If you are into eating out and sight seeing you will not a disappointed. If you are looking for a quite safe place for the night you are 5 minutes off I35 and no traffic noise. Park has a boat ramp for those that want to fish the lake. Most of the spots are spacious and semi level but beware this park is mostly on an incline/hill and some spots will require leveling blocks for anything over 30 ft. ****Note the overpass you have to go under if you are coming from I35 looks short but it is 14 9 and should be ok for most RVs.

Park very clean site 17 was exceptionally clean and level .Gate attendant on check in was very friendly and offered us firewood. Gate attendant as we left was also polite and informative as we checked out 2 days early. We usually stay at Speegleville . I think we have found a new spot.

Very underrated spot. We loved it, our kids enjoyed the area, and it's conveniently located to Waco. Wonderful stay, we will be back.

Awesome spot, 17. At the end, huge room to spread out, quiet - almost impossible to hear the highway traffic, shaded just enough, can't wait to go back there

The sites are very nice and spacious. The camp ground is clean and the sites groomed. The shower house is useable, but needs a lot work in updating. The lady working the booth was very nice and welcomed us to Texas.

Lovely park, very convenient for visiting Waco or activities at Lake Waco. Easy access into campsites.

Wonderful campground, very much enjoyed staying there. The campground itself, five star. reservation.gov, though...This was my first attempt to stay at a COE campground, I attempted to reserve a site. recreation.gov showed that Site 10 was available that day, so I clicked to reserve it.The reservation page showed dates starting a week out, and I didn't notice that it had shifted the dates; I ended up reserving the site for a week later, and didn't noticed it. When I got to Midway, someone else was in that site. Fortunately, I noticed that the wrong date had been reserved before I went to ask them why they were in my site.The *extremely* helpful camp host told me that it looked like site 17 was available; I went to recreation.gov and reserved it, paying close attention, and for this site, it did not shift the dates.reservation.gov should not show as "available" sites that are not actually available, and shift the dates without warning when you click "reserve".I will definitely look for COE sites in the future when RV traveling, and pay extra special attention to whether recreation.gov alters the date.

New sites, very clean and spacious, quiet....BUT that bathhouse needs to be overhauled. The mens room only had 1 shower working, and it was filthy, the urinal was ripped off the wall and the toilets have not been cleaned in a long time.
The ladies room was disgustingly filthy, no working shower, toilet have not been cleaned in a long time, dried poop in one bowl and backed up toilet in the other. Thankfully we were able to use our own in the RV. Totally disgusting to say the least...but also the only negative.

Nice clean park. Large sites with plenty of room for 38 foot RV and Pickup . We will stay there again if in the area.
