We love Midway. Very quiet and lots of trees with shade. They have a few spots that include sewer. Not far from home and sometimes I will at the last minute say lets go camping and am able to get a spot. Happy camping .

Campground itself is very nice. Shady spots are good for summer. Access to lake and to surrounding cities is very good.

The park was very clean, in fact, the cleanest, most well kept park that I think I have ever been to. I highly recommend this lovely little park. It also has all the ameneties. The Rangers and Host were also very nice and accomodating. I will definately return.

Loved the campsite! Tons of trees and shade, no need for any canopy. Ample space to accommodate family and kids. Only drawback is the length of RV pad. Limited in length and poses a challenge to leveling the RV. Other drawback is the park closure at 10PM. You can leave but getting back in after that hour is not possible.

Overall excellent experience. Wonderful sites: level, crushed granite surface, paved parking. Restrooms clean but only one shower stall working, pealing wall panels, no grab bar or hooks, or seat in shower. Plenty of hot water & good pressure. The entrance building & restroom structures had lots of rotted exterior trim boards. The window sill at entrance was rotted. More delayed building maintenance than I'd expect at a federal facility. The staff were friendly & helpful. There was a sewer blockage in part of the campsites but there was an immediate & extensive effort to fix it. Only a few sites were impacted for about 12 hours.

Locking the gate without giving campers an access code to enter after 10 is really outdated. My husband and I are in our 60s but still like to go out and see entertainment in the evenings while we travel and were unable to so that due to the gate situation. Also if we were to have an emergency and needed to go to a pharmacy or urgent carenwe also would be unable to get back in. Many parks have gates just out in an access code box.

Beautiful grounds. Full hookups and spacious paved level sites. Sites are large enough that you can stay hooked up if you are just stopping for the night. We really liked this campground.

This park is in a great location, however, it is in need of major repair and updating. The bathroom showers are run down and only one works. There is a pile of rubbish between the entrance and the bathrooms that has been there for months. The playground is a major disappointment with it being all wrapped off and unavailable. It was a beautiful park when it opened years ago, but that seems to be how things go when government oversees maintenance. It's shameful! City parks are open in Waco and even Dallas areas, so not being able to have grandchildren play outside was just completely disappointing. It should be open because it's outside. It seems everything is depressing at this park with no pride taken in how things look to the visitor. It's a beautiful location with great views of the lake and sunsets, so why not treat it as the treasure it is. The government needs to take better care of our resources for the American people who pay for it. We have reservations set for a few more times this year and would enjoy having the playground open and both showers working. Not everyone has a shower in their RV. Thanks!

Park was beautiful and spacious. Had no power for over a day with temps in the 30’s, and was told there were no other spots available. Also told we could not run our generator. Batteries ran out before morning and had to plug into truck to close up RV to hook up and leave. As we rode thru the campground there were several spots open.

The park is small, but well kept. My sight was not even close to level, but the description stated as much, so not unexpected. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great reception for AT&T and Verizon.
